Worked at laying the foundation of the Church and is buried on the north side of cemetary drive. 3rd or 4th row.
Joe was German and a stowaway on a ship. In Chicago, he went into business with a man named Guntzenhouser. Later he lived on the "Riddle Place" across from West Township School.
His former partner became very wealthy, but professed no religion. Joe was a very devout man. Guntzenhauser said "but when we die, I think you will be as well off as I."
Taken from a scrapbook of the Church History.
