Photograph kindly donated by Theresa Forsyth

Bridget Starrs Cottage in Drumragh parish.

Note the turkeys in the foreground.

This picture shows Rosanna Starrs, born 1874, Omagh with her sister Bridget Starrs, born 1862 in Omagh. They are standing in front of Bridget's cottage. Bridget was the mother of Joseph and grandmother of Rosanna, John and Bernard in the above photographs. This was taken in Drumragh parish, but I'm not sure of exact townland. I do know that in 1901 census they were in Blacksessagh, but can't say if this was here. She was my great aunt. I dont know if it was common to keep turkeys, but do know that one of my Tyrone Starrs ancestors was known as 'Patrick the poultry man'. I assumed from this he kept hens and chickens.
