Generation No. 1

1.  ROBERT¹ ORR was born March 18, 1807 in Wigtonshire, Scotland, and died September 1891 in Delmar, PA.  He married DELIA COOK.  She was born January 09, 1809, and died June 30, 1887 in Delmar, PA.

Notes for ROBERT ORR:

ROBERT ORR, a native of Wigtonshire, Scotland, born in 1807 and a son James and Catherine (Kenmure) Orr was reared in his native land, and there learned the weaver's trade.  In 1828 he immigrated to New York City, where he worked at his trade for a few years, and then removed to Onondaga County, New York.  He continued working at his trade in that county up to 1849, in which year he removed to Wyoming County, where he spent ten years, only part of the time following is trade.  In 1859 he came to Tioga County, Pennsylvania, and rented a farm one-mile south of Wellsboro, in Delmar Township, which he cultivated for two years.  He then bought a farm adjoining that now owned by Thomas J Orr, on which he passed the remaining years of his life, dying in September 1891.  He married Delia Cook, and to them was born four children, viz.: Catherine, wife of W. E. Tyler of Minnesota; Thomas J of Delmar; Robert S. who was killed before Petersburg, September 9, 1864, while serving in the Union Army, and Alice, deceased wife of A. C. Mack.  Mrs. Orr died in 1887, aged seventy-nine years.

Notes for THOMAS J ORR:

THOMAS J.ORR, only living son of Robert Orr, was born in Onondaga county, New York, May 2, 1842, and was educated in that county and Wyoming County.  When seventeen years old he came to Tioga county with his parents, and worked on the family on the homestead farm up to 1885, when he purchased his present property of 217 acres, a short distance Northwest of Stony Fork, where he makes a specialty of dairy farming, usually keeping twenty-five cows.  Mr. Orr was married March 8, 1864 to Ruth Willard, a daughter of Joseph Willard, of Delmar township, and has three children, viz.: Robert J., Kate E. and Neva A.  Mr. Orr is a staunch Democrat, is a member of the K. of G. E. and both he and wife are connected with Patrons of Husbandry.  He is one of the substantial and progressive farmers of his township.

         iii.  ROBERT S. ORR, b. 1845; d. September 30, 1864, Poplar Springs, VA (KIA).

         iv.  ALICE ORR, b. November 11, 1848; m. ALONZO MACK.

2.  CATHERINE NANCY² ORR (ROBERT¹) was born August 02, 1839 in NY, and died April 04, 1916 in Appleton, MN.  She married WARDEN E. TYLER August 24, 1864 in Delmar, PA, son of AMOS TYLER and ANNICE BARTLE.  He was born October 28, 1839 in Chenango, NY, and died March 04, 1903 in Appleton, MN.

           i.  NELLIE³ TYLER, b. May 09, 1866; m. H. A. BAILEY.

          ii.  MABEL TYLER, b. November 22, 1867; m. GEORGE LASSELL.

         iii.  JESSIE TYLER, b. February 28, 1871; d. 1947; m. EVERETT LOWRY.

         iv.  CHARLES H. TYLER, b. April 15, 1872; d. 1879, Appleton, MN.

          v.  ANNICE TYLER, b. November 20, 1874.

3.      vi.  WILLIAM GEORGE TYLER, b. November 03, 1876, Appleton, MN; d. November 26, 1936, Pasadena, CA.

        vii.  KATIE TYLER, b. July 06, 1880; m. CLARENCE JOHNSON.

3.  WILLIAM GEORGE³ TYLER (CATHERINE NANCY² ORR, ROBERT¹) was born November 03, 1876 in Appleton, MN, and died November 26, 1936 in Pasedena, CA.  He married ANNA CAROLINE LEWIS May 05, 1902, daughter of ANDREW LEWIS and CAROLINE PULS.  She was born February 20, 1881, and died July 08, 1936 in Stockton, CA.

Children of WILLIAM TYLER and ANNA LEWIS are:

           i.  KATHLEEN ANNICE⁴ TYLER, b. March 06, 1905.

4.  WARD ERWIN⁴ TYLER (WILLIAM GEORGE³, CATHERINE NANCY² ORR, ROBERT¹) was born July 10, 1907 in Spokane, WA, and died August 19, 1988 in Stockton, CA.  He married GENEVIEVE PATRICIA BURKE July 02, 1931 in Stockton, CA, daughter of JAMES BURKE and ELIZABETH TUMELTY.  She was born March 02, 1908 in Stockton, CA, and died January 18, 1984 in Stockton, CA.

Children of WARD TYLER and GENEVIEVE BURKE are:

5.        i.  WARD ERWIN⁵ TYLER, JR, b. May 13, 1932, Stockton, CA; d. November 05, 1989, Stockton, CA.
