I am
working in many directions on my family
now. If a link doesn't work, it will
within a few days. I'm working out the
kinks in these pages. Thanks for
understanding. This is really a difficult
project to undertake, but I am enjoying
it so very much. I hope you do as well.Index
I
created a new section called Index,
trying to make it easier on myself as the
site grows. It's too hard to update all
of the links on all pages, so this is the
easiest for me. If you don't see what you
are looking for, please drop an email and
I'll answer it as soon as possible.
go Directly to the - Harding Page which includes
Family Photos, more about members.

The HARDING tree is the
one that I focused on first.
It has the most complete information but there is
always more to come.
Click on Photos on my site for larger view.
Click on the names to go to those pages.
The others
will come with time and info.
See below this for info about us
And How to view the Photo's.
Most names below to come. |
Explanation of Photo's and how to use/view them
| Click
on photo's for a larger view. I scanned all of
them -larger size- for your enjoyment. When you
go to the page with the photo and it doesn't seem
large enough, hold your cursor in the lower right
corner of the photo and you should see this: Click
on that and it should make it larger. If you
don't see it, click somewhere on the page then
try again. (note: if you see the option to print
the photo in a popup type of environment, then
you can now click on the lower corner) The ones
that are linked (clickable) will lead to a larger
photo.
Click
on the Surname that you wish to view...
but I'm just starting to build this, much info
not known or online yet.

Hi
and Welcome!
My name is Cathy, and I'll be your hostess &
webmistress.
I am researching my HARDING family
first. Corrections & Additions need to be
made in this document. I will do so as time
permits & information allows. |
I began my genealogy
search from a few notes taken in 1980 when the
family gathered for Thanksgiving.
My
Grandfather John M. HARDING
(God Bless his Sweet Gentle Soul) is the one that
peeked my interest in genealogy. I pulled out the
old baby book, see what's there...hmm...
not much....and some not correct. But all of this
gave me a good start in what I now consider my
personal Quest into our past.
I
am not doing a "conventional" genealogy
page, although the family tree, or parts of it
are on here, others will be eventually. I am
trying to include a bit about the actual people.
I find this all so very interesting. I hope you
enjoy getting to know us. Please share so that
our little ones, aka Wee Ones can recall and
learn about our ancestors, their accomplishments
and deeds. If you know someone that is elderly,
sit and talk to them, take notes and even if they
aren't your family, submit it to usgenweb, so
that it can be recorded for those who follow.

Our HARDINGs are from:
England-NY-OH-IN-KY-TN-MO-IL-other places, eventually
ending up in TX in the early 1950s later NM
Tip: Control F to navigate easily.
My Mom's
maternal side is GARNER which dates my granddaughter
back to being a 6th Generation Texan. As with any family
in America we are from everywhere. It's certainly
entertaining finding out our migration patterns. Our
roots will eventually lead our families as follows:
CARMODY to Ireland, BUCHANAN to Ireland and Scotland,
HARDING to England, and I believe to Ireland, then the
GRIMES are naturally from Ireland.
Abbreviations:
| [ ] = Maiden name |
twp =Township |
[sic] = written exact |
Mig = Migration Pattern |
POB = Place of Birth
POD

Fa: = Father
Ma:=Mother |
1st = 1st Marriage
2nd

b 1 Sept 1847 |
| Hshld = Household |

My list of Surnames will continue
as time and information allots.
MILLS, CARMODY, WILBURN, STOVALL,
MORTON, BUCHANNAN, MYERS, OWEN,
GARNER <~~
will have limited information for web site since
my source is my cousin
and she should be the one if Anyone were to post
any of our GARNER Information.
I will provide names, or whatever information she
wishes me to provide. |
My Many Thanks to all of the following:
Logan County
Clerks Office and Public Library; and Logan County
Genealogical Society.
I appreciate all of their help in this research
Robertson County has been the most helpful since that is
where most of my family information is
located. I could never thank them enough! :)
Aline Garner - Baxter Researcher
My GARNER Cousin! She was the first to take me by
the hand and started teaching me about genealogy,
she answered my dumb questions like what does
Nee: mean? It means maiden name or name before
marriage. :)
And she told me not to give up when I couldn't
find Anything on John Henry Harding
eeeeeek!~ I had nightmares, and said his name in
my sleep (I talk in my sleep lol) Thank goodness
my hubby knew what I was doing online, could have
gotten myself in trouble there ;) |
Barb & Dorothy
Sprouse Researchers |
Jo & Nanelle -
Harding(s) |
| I
couldn't have made it this far were it not for a
Newly Found Cousin named Barb who has guided me,
found information and has been teaching me the
"Art of Genealogy." She is from our SPROUSE
~ PORTER Connection. I appreciate her kindness,
generousity and most of all, her Friendship &
Love.
Dorothy is
closer in the family tree to me with another
connection from the Sprouse Family as well.
We are all
sharing information and trying to help each
other, but honestly they are helping me more than
I am them. Thanks Ya'll! :)

I
recently found Jo or Mark Lowe From Robertson
County TN found her for me! Thanks Mark! email
him if you need a Great Researcher for that
county!
Jo is sharing other living family members names
with me. Jo
is my main source on personal HARDING
information. She is the Grand Daughter of John
Henry HARDING, Squire b 1847 aka Granddaddy. John
Henry lived next door or with Jo and her family
when she was growing up. He died in 1930 when she
was 12, she knows Granddaddy. I feel so terribly
blessed to have her in my life and with her
sharing stories and information with me. I wanted
this to be more of a get to know us genealogy
site.
Nanelle is
Helping me from Hawaii with more personal
information about our Harding bunch. ;) Ya'll are
wonderful, Thanks!
If you are from
our "bunch" Please ~eMail~ me
and I'll add or share what you wish, other
information, if private will kept that way. I do
not add complete information on living
individuals for all of our safety.
