Welcome. It is hoped that by Christmas
2001 a table of contents page will help guide you to a desired cemetery
location, with its photos, and some background information. Thanks Burnet & Eastland County.

Our
tombstone photo project would like to feature many photos of Texas
Tombstones. There are a few requirements for submission of your
photo for inclusion in our collection. Please follow the
instructions for submission to insure that your photo receives the
best exposure on this web site. If, after reading these submission
instructions, you need further information, please send an email to
Donna |

E-Mail Photo Size: The photo should be no larger than 200 KB, sorry, nothing larger can be processed. File type should be either JPG or GIF. These file types can usually be sized down by adjusting the pixels to around 100 to 150 pixels per inch. Excessive background will be edited out for a closer view of the tombstone, unless the photo quality is diminished by doing so. If you like you may send them using WinZip which can be downloaded free. Just click on the name WinZip and this link will take you there, then follow the instructions. If you send a zipped file be sure it is no larger than 80 KB so the file may be unzipped onto a floppy disk or CD. When sending an email please make sure you send no more than 5 photos that are no larger than 200 KB each, then if you have more, wait for a reply before sending them. Sometimes I have to be away from my computer and if my mail server gets clogged all I can do is delete them. So please limit the number of submissions to just 5 at a time, between responses. When these conditions have been met, send the prepared file to Donna. For those who might be interested there is a free program that will help with editing the photos. It is Web Optimizer and can be downloaded from their web site. If you like it the purchase price is reasonable at $25. It will let you resize, crop, change hue, brightness, etc. (Thanks to Janelle Holmes for this information.) Other methods of submission: Send photos by the postal service to:
Donna Brand
When submitting by regular mail, please include a "Self Addressed
Stamped Envelope" (SASE) if you want the photos back. To
illustrate, if 100 people sent 4 photos each at 34 cents postage each,
it would cost me $34 to return them. I just can't afford it.
So, photos received without a SASE cannot be returned.
Another method is to send a web site location. These photos can be
linked to or downloaded for placement on this web site. |
