These are the guidelines of our mail list: This list was created for the purpose of locating, and preserving our
Texas-Cemeteries.
List's Guidelines (1.) RootsWeb and Ancestry.Com are our host, without them there would not be a list. Before anything else their guidelines will be what governs this list. Should you have any questions about those guide lines you may view them at http://www.rootsweb.com/rootsweb/aup.html A brief summary of the "Acceptable Use Policy" guidelines are: "Have fun", "Respect others", "Respect copyright" and "Stay on topic". (a.) Copyright. Any message composed by a person who submits it to this list is copyrighted by that person. DO NOT forward any message to this list or from this list before asking that person's permission to do so. Should you have any questions concerning copyright laws you may find answers at: U.S. Copyright Office Library of Congress 101 Independence Ave. S.E. Washington, D.C. 20559-6000 copyinfo@loc.gov http://lcweb.loc.gov/copyright/ (2.) Majority rules. Here everyone will need some definitions. We have people on this list ranging in age from their early 20s to their early 90s. The majority of the people, however, are between the ages of 55 and 75. When anyone ask these folks for special help, please know that they will do their best, and in return they need your thanks and gratitude for their efforts. Those efforts are given freely by those who are sometimes hampered by age. These quite folks will be my PRIMARY concern when working with ANY issue. (3.) Special Interest (a) Genealogy Genealogy research is acceptable unless or until it begins to detract from the major purpose of this list. (b.) Other types of Research Our list has the unique distinction of being studied by students of Archaeology, Historical Art, as well as many more interesting fields of research. These studies are acceptable unless or until they make too stringent demands on the general population of the list. (4.) The Texas Historic Commission has a program headed by Gerron Hite titled Historic Texas Cemetery Designation You may learn of this project by visiting his web site at: http://www.thc.state.tx.us/cemetery/Gerron.html He needs our help in locating cemeteries. He can't help us preserve them unless he knows where they are. Suggestion: |
