| Home About This Website History Pages Index Family Tree The Village of Kunkle, Ohio Links How To Contribute Guest Book | IntroductionNear the beginning of the 19th Century, George Heinrich "Henry" Kunkle, a gentleman of Hessian - German descent, and his wife Mary Catherine Stone, began raising a family near the settlement of New Bloomfield, Perry County, Pennsylvania. Together they had seven children - one daughter and six sons. A few years later, Mary Catherine passed away and George Henry Kunkle remarried Catherine Ohler and by her, fathered another four children -- one daughter and three sons. By the end of the 1850s, George Henry Kunkle and most of his offspring had migrated to northwest Ohio, specifically to Williams, Lucas and Defiance Counties. It was from there that George Henry Kunkle's line began to multiply and ultimately migrate and populate the far reaches of the United States. Today, George Henry Kunkle's descendants can still be found in northwest Ohio and as far away as Florida, Texas, Colorado, and Utah. This website has been created to celebrate the life of George Henry Kunkle and all of his descendants, of which I am one. My name is Theodore "Ted" Wesley Kunkle, from the Kunkle, Ohio stock, and I hope everyone derives as much pleasure from visiting this site as I have had in creating it. Sit back and enjoy "your" family history!
