First let me say that the 1845 census was a good find. It is large and contains lots of information. Due to the time and space element I am placing just the parts that I feel are the most beneficial. I took into consideration the amount and type of people that lived in Catlin in 1845 and eliminated the lines that I felt were not that important to locating your ancestors. 1845 census contained 39 columns. I seen no benefit in knowing the acres, type of grain grown, and the barrels, manufactured cloth, etc.

I debated if putting this information on the site would be more of a hindrance than help. I have made mistakes, I am sure as following the lines across the many pages without lines per names. If you feel that I have a number WRONG in one of the many boxes, kindly let me know. If you need me to check the pages again I will do so. I will not throw the sheets out so feel free to contact me.

1-The Name of the Head of Each Family.

2- Number of Male Persons in the family including head if male.

3-Number of female persons in the same family including head if female.

4-Number of male persons in the same family subject to militia duty.

5-Number of persons in the same family entitled to vote for officers elected by the people.

6-Number of aliens not naturalized in such family.

7-Number of persons in same family who are paupers.

8-Number of persons of color in the same family not taxed.

9- Number of persons of color in the same family who are taxed.

11-Number of married females in the same family, under 20 years of age.

12-Number of females unmarried in the same family between the ages of 16-45

13-Number of females in the same family under the age of 16

14-Number of marriages in the family in the previous year.

15-Number of births in the same family during the year preceding. MALES

16-Number of births in the same family during the year preceding FEMALES

17-Number of deaths in the same family during the year preceding. MALES

18-Number of deaths in the same family during the year preceding. FEMALES.

19-Number of members of the same family born in the state of New York.

20-Number of members of the same family born in any of the New England States.

21-Number of the members of the same family born in any other state in the Union.

23-Number of the members born in Great Britain or its possessions.
