In the family since 1838, the acre-
age is still owned by members of
the Conklin family.
Supposedly, the
house is on some type of registery
in the town seat, but I’ve never been
able to prove that. I was told that
Dad signed the papers in the 1980’s
for its inclusion in
the registry on the
basis of its being the first double
home built in the township. Be sure

where she tells about its construction.
