A Handsome Boat

A Handsome Boat. Mr. Wm. D. Wilson one of the most ingenious hewers of wood and workers of iron in the country, will launch from his dry dock on Arsenal street about Thursday or Friday of this week, the handsomest steam pleasure yacht in Northern New York. It will probably be taken "overland" to Sackets Harbor and from that point to its destination at Fisher’s Landing on the St. Lawrence, where it will be in readiness during the coming season, at all times for pleasure parties, under the command of Captain. E.M. Robbins It is now receiving its finishing touches. It is 32 ½ feet long, 7 feet wide and is well and thoroughly built by Mr. Wilson after a models of his own design, and either by skillful hand or under his direction. It is finished in ash and black walnut, seat cushion with scarlet reps all protected by roofing with awnings at the sides. The engine is a model of beauty, upright and of about eight horse power, and was constructed by Mr. Wilson and Mr. A Coates. The furnace is also upright and is the work of Mr. Wilson. The engine will drive a powerful screw, and the little propeller may be expected to make good
time. Accommodations are afforded for twenty persons, and we shall expect the sprightly looking craft to enjoy prosperous season. It is handsomely painted, and is one of the best looking models we have seen. Mr. Wilson will issue no passes for the ride to Sackets. The boat seems to be richly worth $2,000 and has cost nearly that sum. It is a fine sample of Mr. Wilson’s skill and is a credit for him. Long may she sail!
