Hiram Eugene "Boney" Reed, 82, of West Main Street, Clarion, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, in Clarion Hospital. Born March 22, 1917, in Miola, he was a son of Hiram and Minnie Elizabeth McCLAIN Reed. Mr. Reed was a self-employed automobile mechanic and worked from him home from 1973 until his retirement. He was a former partner in the Central Garage. He was a master woodworker, tending to various projects in his shop. Mr. Reed was a lifelong auto mechanic and reportedly could make the worst engine work. He was an avid outdoorsman, walking in the woods with his companion, Dog, hunting with his pistol and returning home to enjoy an evening in front of the fire. Mr. Reed was described as a patient, loving and joyful man who always was ready with quick wit. He was married May 5, 1972, to Gladys Ilene SIMONS, who survives. Also surviving are three friends, Susan Hahnfeldt, Robin Fuge and Becky Lengel; one daughter, Carol ETZEL of Clarion; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Reed was preceded in death by a son, Stanley Reed; a stepson, Dennis J. HULLENBAUGH; a stepdaughter, Thelma McCLEARY MAHLE; and a brother, Charles Reed. The Goble Funeral Home of Clarion is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in Miola Cemetery. Mildred E. Doverspike, 91, of 200 South St., New Bethlehem, died at 3 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion. Born March 28, 1908, in Punxsutawney, she was a daughter of William and Anna BLACK DAVIS. Mrs. Doverspike had worked for 10 years as a clerk at Brown's Boot Shop in New Bethlehem. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of New Bethlehem and the Order of Eastern Star, New Bethlehem. Mrs. Doverspike enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was married June 7, 1929, to George Brent Doverspike, who died Jan. 24, 1985. Surviving are three sons and their wives, George B. and Annette Doverspike of Corvallis, Ore., Gerald L. and Shirley Doverspike of Waterloo, N.Y., and Edwin K. and Janet Doverspike of Mayport; four daughters, Edith E. WALLACE of Bethel Park, E. Virginia DUNCOMBE of Runson, N.J., Ellen A. MARKLE of New Kensington and Susan E. BITTNER and her husband, Walter, of New Bethlehem; 25 grandchildren; and 39 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by two sisters, Grace CHELGREN of Punxsutawney and Margie MARTIN of Crystal Springs; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Doverspike was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Davis and Raymond Davis; and two sisters, Ruth WOOD and Mary HARRICK. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday in the Bish Memorial Funeral Home, 206 South St., New Bethlehem. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Scott C. Jones, pastor of the First Baptist Church of New Bethlehem, officiating. Interment will be in the Oakland Cemetery at Distant. Memorial contributions may be made to an organization of one's choice.

Theresa "Tess" O'Neill Taylor, 54, of Point Cedar, Ark., formerly of Leeper, died Wednesday, Sept. 8, 1999. Born Nov. 1, 1944, in Brookville, she was a daughter of Henry and Grace WOLBERT O'Neill. Mrs. Taylor was a graduate of North Clarion High School and also was a graduate of the Oil City Hospital School and Nursing. She was a registered nurse. She was married for 33 years to Don Taylor of Point Cedar, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Steve Taylor and his wife, Cynthia, and Gary Taylor, all of Point Cedar; and three grandchildren, Ryan BURK, Justin Taylor and Morgan Taylor. She also is survived by her mother, Grace O'Neill of Leeper, two sisters, Joyce RUPERT of Cooperstown and Bonnie RICE of Clarion; and several nieces and nephews. Services were held Saturday, Sept. 11, in Point Cedar. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Children's Hospital Foundation, P.O. Drawer 2222, Little Rock, Ark. 72203

Stacey S. Groves Ludwick, 24, of Titusville RD 5, died at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999. Born Sept. 4, 1975 in Marlboro, Mass., she was a daughter of David G. Groves and Martha L. SIMONS Groves. Miss Ludwick was a 1993 graduate of Oil City High School and currently was a senior at Edinboro University. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church, Dempseytown, a kindergarten Sunday School teacher, a member of the Yought Fellowship and Faithful Followers Missionary Group of the church. Miss Ludwick was a past 4-H member and was a horseback riding instructor throught the Miracle Mount Ranch. She enjoyed bicycling. Surviving are her father of Birmingham, Ala.; her mother and stepfather, Marty and Stephen SHAFFER of Titusville RD 5; two sisters, Mrs. John (Dana) RIPPLE of Franklin and Miss Kerri Shaffer of Findlay, Ohio; and two nieces, Katherynn Ripple and Lauranna Ripple of Franklin. She also is survived by her maternal grandparents, Wade and Shirley L. Simons of Oil City. A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. today in the Oakland United Methodist Church with the Rev. Richard Roberts, pastor, officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oakland United Methodist Church Library for Children's Books. The Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, is in charge of arrangements.

Harry Waddle Hudson, 79, of 15414 S. Mosiertown Road, Meadville, formerly of 5214 Harvey Road, Cochranton, father of Mrs. William (Marily R.) NICKLIN of Utica and Ronda F. CALOMINO of Cochranton, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, in Meadville Medical Center.

Donald Alden, 73, of Niles, Ohio, formerly of Oil City, died Saturday, Sept. 11, 1999, in his home.
