Cleo Lenora Lewis, 75, of Washington Street, Strattanville, died Wednesday Nov. 24, 1999, at her home. Born Feb. 14, 1924, in Clarion, she was a daughter of Harry Lee HAINES and Verna Viola SMITH Haines. Mrs. Lewis was married Feb. 10, 1943, to Blaine A. Lewis, who preceded her in death April 26, 1990. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and worked for Gallagher's Drug Store in Clarion. She attended the Church of Nazarene in Clarion. Mrs. Lewis is survived by one son, Steven B. Lewis of Rocky River, Ohio; two daughters, Mrs. Calvin (Penny) McCLEARY of Clarion RD 1 and Judith L. FELDMAN of Strattanville RD 2; two sisters, Ethel HODGE of Batavia, N.Y., and Harriet MURRY of Buffalo, N.Y.; and one brother-in-law, Blake Lewis of Shippenville. Also surviving are five grandchildren, Mark Feldman of Bellefonte, Scott Feldman of Clarion, Eric LIND of Rocky River, Ohio, Mandy McCleary of Center Hall and Karie Ann SHRUM of Palm Springs, Calif.; and one great-grandson, Matthew Feldman of Bellefonte. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lewis was preceded in death by three sisters and four brothers. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Goble Funeral Home, Clarion. Interment will follow in the Cedarview Memorial Park in Strattanville. Thelma Ekis Carbaugh, 86, of Marienville, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Warren General Hospital. Born Feb. 3, 1913, in Redclyffe, Barnett Township, Forest County, she was the daughter of Jonah and Sue KNIGHT GADLEY. Mrs. Carbaugh first was married April 25, 1933, to Boyd L. Ekis. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1984. She was married again Nov. 30, 1985, to Floyd Carbaugh. He preceded her in death Dec. 14, 1996. A member of Marienville United Methodist Church, Mrs. Carbaugh worked as a bottle packer and inspector for the Glass Container Corp. of Marienville for 15 years. Mrs. Carbaugh is survived by a son, Lester K. Ekis of Tionesta; five grandchildren and 13 great grand children; five step-grandchildren, Eva Rose REGINA of Tucson, Ariz., Floyd E. Carbaugh Jr. of Ft. Wayne, Ind., Curtis Carbaugh of Marienville, Elizabeth HARP of Stafford, Va., and Robert Carbaugh of Mauldin, S.C. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Carbaugh was preceded in death by a son, Carl Ekis; an infant son, Alvin Duane Ekis; and six brothers, Eugene K. Gadley, Clyde Gadley, Kingsley Gadley, Elton Gadley, Gurvas Gadley and Merle Gadley. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home, Marienville. Timothy N. Hagan, 69, of 13 Riverside Drive, Oil City, died Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at his residence. Born Nov. 4, 1930, in Oil City, he was a son of Joseph J. and Aletha HOOVER Hagan. Mr. Hagan attended Cranberry schools. He was employed at Worthing ton as a time keeper and later worked at Joy Manufacturing as a time keeper for 32 years. He re tired from there in May 1999. While at Joy, he was a member of the labor union. Mr. Hagan attended Trinity United Methodist Church. Mr. Hagan is survived by one brother, William D. Hagan of Grafton, Ohio; one sister, Jean WEST of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death April 3, 1999, by one brother, James Hagan. Marie S. Switzer Hall, 84, of Sligo, died Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center near Sligo. Born Nov. 27, 1914, in Knox, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Albert L. Switzer and Ida C. McCLAINE Switzer. She was married March 18, 1946, to John A. Hall, who preceded her in death Oct. 9, 1976. Mrs. Hall worked at the Knox Bank and later was a self-employed beautician. She and her husband owned Knox Printing Co. A member of the Knox Presbyterian Church, Mrs. Hall also at tended the Clarion First Presbyterian Church. She also belonged to Card Club, Clarion Chapter OES 267, 500 Club and a bowling league. Mrs. Hall is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Lisa) REED of Strattanville; and four grandchildren, Justin Reed, Robert Reed, Shawn Reed and Shasta Reed, all of Strattanville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hall was preceded in death by one sister, Irene Switzer McEELHATTAN. Charles '' Willard'' Matthews, 82, of Kennerdell RD 2, died following an extended illness Thursday, Nov. 25, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Franklin. Born June 8, 1917, in Irwin Township, Venango County, he was a son of Charles Weaver and Sara Belle HOFFMAN Matthews. Mr. Matthews lived in the area his entire life. He was married Sept. 14, 1936, in Mayville, N.Y., to the former June E. WALTERS. Mr. Matthews retired from the trucking business, having owned and operated his own trucking company for 26 years. Before working in the trucking business, he was a machinist at the CPT in Franklin. He also was in the farming business. Mr. Matthews was a veteran of the Navy. He was a member of many organizations including the Wesley Methodist Church in Wesley, the F&AM Allegheny Valley Lodge 552, the Oil City Lodge of Perfection and the Scottish Rite Consistory of New Castle. In addition to his wife, Mr. Matthews is survived by one daughter, Shirley M. ANDERSON of York, Maine; two sons, Gaylord L. Matthews and his wife, Betty, of Harrisville and Floyd C. Matthews and his wife, Becky, of Stoneboro; and one sister, Sarah Jean BEATTY of Saugus, Calif. Also surviving are 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Matthews is preceded in death by two brothers, Leonard C. Matthews and Parker Matthews; and two sisters, Irene ALLEN and Eveylen WEST. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, for Daniel E. Miller, 53, of Longview, Texas, a Venango County native and Vietnam veteran. The Rev. Gerald Henson officiated at services, held in the Rader Funeral Home Chapel at 1617 Judson Road, Longview. Interment was in Rosewood Park Cemetery. Mr. Miller was born Jan. 15, 1946, in Franklin. He had lived in Longview since 1980, having moved there from Linden, Texas, and was formerly employed as a meter reader by the City of Longview. Mr. Miller served two tours of duty in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He is survived by his wife Rosie of Longview; a son, Michael Miller of Longview; his mother, Mern DeLONG of Oil City; a brother, Kenny TAYLOR of Oil City; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great--nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryce Adam Miller; a daughter, Mary D'Nell Miller; and his uncle Jim Miller. Evelyn L. Young, 68, of Crown, died Thursday morning, Nov. 25, 1999, at her home. Born May 22, 1931, at Crown, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Grace GUITON Young. Miss Young was never married, but had a love for children and made her career as a babysitter. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Tionesta RD 1. Miss Young is survived by two sisters, Maxine WOLBERT of Crown and Hazel GABOR of Johnsonburg. Also surviving are three nieces and two nephews.
