Helen G. Campbell, 74, of Clarion RD 1, died Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion. Born March 5, 1925, in Clarion Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Foster and Inez MARTZ BISH. Mrs. Campbell was a member of the Alpha Assembly of God Church in Clarion. She was a homemaker and enjoyed gardening. Mrs. Campbell was married Jan. 9, 1946, to Dale E. Campbell, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Cathy A. POWLEY of Oakmont and Sandra L. SHOWERS of Sheffield; and two grandchildren. She also is survived by seven brothers, George Bish of Oklahoma, Roy Bish and Willis Bish, both of Corsica, John Bish of Brookville RD 1, Milliard Bish of Brookville, Darrell Bish of Watkins Glen, N.Y., and Clyde Bish of Clarion; and three sisters, Mary Jane MILLER of Danville, Ohio, Olive MORRELL of Conneaut Lake and DeRose Bish of Brookville. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Campbell was preceded in death by two sons, Rod and Ernie Campbell; and two sisters, Marie DAVIS and Irene DAILEY. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Goble Funeral Home, Clarion. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Selleck officiating. Interment will follow in the Clarion Cemetery.

Raymond Joseph Bower, 60, of Reidsburg, Clarion RD 1, died at 11:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at his residence following a lengthy illness. Born Oct. 12, 1939, in Williamsport, he was a son of James and Margaret ENGEL Bower. Mr. Bower was a self-employed dairy farmer for many years and also worked construction. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church in Clarion. Mr. Bower enjoyed raising small animals. He was married Sept. 25, 1982, to Becky BURNS, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Gregory Bower of Clarion and Andrew Bower of Kittanning RD; four daughters, Joan GEARHART of Grampian, Lisa Bower of Silver Spring, Md., and Rebecca GARMEN and Valeri Bower, both of Kittanning RD; three stepsons, Edwin ORTZ of Summerville, Scott Ortz of Bela and David Ortz of Broomfield, Colo.; two stepdaughters, Leza SHEAKLEY of St. Petersburg and Beth Ortz of Clarion RD 1; and 19 grandchildren. He also is survived by two brothers, Carl Bower and Jerome Bower, both of Williamsport; and three sisters, Kathleen FINK, Anne Belle BENNETT and Bernie PLANKENHORN, all of Williamsport. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert V. Burns Funeral Home, Clarion. A wake service will be held at 8:45 p.m. today in the funeral home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Wednesday in the Immaculate Conception Church with the Rev. Frank Przepierski, pastor, as the presider. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Cemetery.

Joseph Frank Centorcelli, 87, of Brookville, formerly of Clarion RD 1, died at 12:30 p.m. Monday, Nov. 22, 1999, in Ivy Lane Personal Care Home near Brookville. Born Aug. 29, 1912, in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County, he was a son of John and Matilda TOMA Centorcelli. Mr. Centorcelli retired in 1970 from the Owens-Illinois Plant after 34 years of service in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club and the Golden Emblem Club of Owens-Illinois. Mr. Centorcelli also was a member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church in Strattanville. He was an active Mason, having belonged to Masonic Lodge No. 277, F. & A.M. of Clarion and served as past master of the lodge in 1953; Coudersport Consistory; and Jefferson County Chapter No. 225 of Royal Arch Masons. Mr. Centorcelli first was married Oct. 11, 1939, to Susanna PETERS, who died in June 1984. He next was married Oct. 20, 1998, to Vada MOORE, who survives. Also surviving are two stepdaughters, Shirley SLONIGER of Coolspring and Wanda MOORE of Brookville; and one stepson, Charles Peters of Clarion. He also is survived by a brother, Eugene Centorcelli of Seattle, Wash. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers; one sister; and one stepson, Floyd Peters. R. Geraldine Hied, 96, died at 5:15 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3. She was born May 20, 1903, a daughter of Edward Luke and Mazie E. MiITCHELL ELLIS. She was a graduate of Franklin High School. Mrs. Hied was married in 1921 to Taylor A. Hied Sr., who died in 1963. She worked for several years with her husband in a decorating business in Franklin. She later worked at The Fashion in Franklin and also at Whitmer & Smith in Sharon. Mrs. Hied was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Franklin. Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert E. and Phyllis Hied of Ridge Manor, Fla.; 15 grand children; 37 great-grandchildren; and nine great-great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Lewis (Jane) JUDSON of Franklin; a brother, Thomas G. Ellis of Cleveland, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Mrs. Taylor (Jean) Hied of San Diego, Calif.; a son-in-law, Ralph COOLEY of Saint Augustine Beach, Fla.; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Edward (Toni) Ellis of Franklin. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hied was preceded in death by a son, Taylor A. Hied Jr.; a daughter, Mrs. Ralph (Mary) Cooley; one brother, Ed ward '' Bus'' Ellis; and four sisters, Mrs. Maxwell (Mary) ROSE, Mrs. George (Helen) CARTWRIGHT, Mrs. Clarence (Viola Mae) HALL and Mrs. Knealand (Edna) WIEGEL. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday in the Huff Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. William M. Fred A. Milliron, 86, of 609 Squirrel Hill Road, New Bethlehem, Porter Township, Clarion County, died at 11:50 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at the home of his daughter, Jean Blair. He formerly resided for 15 years at Broadwood Towers, New Bethlehem. Born Aug. 21, 1913, in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, he was a son of Frank and Nannie U. McINTRE Milliron. Mr. Milliron worked as a driller for Toy Drilling Co. in Distant until his retirement. He was very active with the New Bethlehem Fire Co. and was a fire police. He also belonged to the Loyal Order of the Moose, Lodge 366 of New Bethlehem. Mr. Milliron was an avid golfer and hunter. He was a Protestant. Mr. Milliron was married March 31, 1935, to Mildred BRIGHT, who died May 11, 1984. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Wylie (Jean) BLAIR of New Bethlehem; two grandchildren, Fred Blair and his wife, Kim, of Oxford and Mona TAYLOR and her husband, Dave, of Distant; and five great-grandchildren, Heath and Dyland Blair, Leslie and Brandon Taylor and Hazel WYANT. He also is survived by a brother, Leland '' Dutch'' Milliron of Pahokee, Fla. In addition to his parents and wife, Mr. Milliron was preceded in death by a grandson, Richard Blair; two sisters, Hope H. MOWERY and Winfred MILLNER; and four brothers, Mac, Frank, Thomas and Bill Milliron. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Charles D. The Rev. Jackson Alexander Gabany, 72, of State College, formerly of Franklin, died Sunday, Nov. 21, 1999, at his residence. Born Feb. 10, 1927, in Rumble, W.Va., he was a son of Verner O. and Esther SHETTER Gabany. His parents died when he was a child and he was raised by his maternal grandparents, Elmer J. and Jennie WHITE Shetter, in Renfrew. He left high school at age 17 to become a telegraph operator on the Baltimore & Ohio Railroad. The next year in May 1945, during World War II, he enlisted in the Army and served in the Signal Corps in the occupation forces in Germany. He was honorably discharged in November 1946. Following the service, he returned to Butler High School where he graduated in 1947. He graduated in 1950 from Geneva College in Beaver Falls, where he majored in English literature. In 1956, Rev. Gabany received his master's degree in theology from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary. Further studies were pursued at Duke University, Union Theological Seminary in New York and the Pittsburgh Pastors Institute. Rev. Gabany served the following churches: McKnight Village Community Church, Pittsburgh; First Methodist Church, McKeesport; First Methodist Monessen; Grove Avenue United Methodist, Johnstown; Sewickley United Methodist; and First United Methodist, Franklin. He retired after 40 years of service from the Western Pennsylvania Conference of the United Methodist Church. Following his retirement, Rev. Gabany served in the Central Pennsylvania Conference at a number of churches in the State College District. The past three years, he served as the interim pastor at the Houtzdale-Madera Charge and also at the Buffalo Run-Valley View Charge. During his ministry, Rev. Gabany spent much effort on ministries to youth, leading camps at Jumonville and other campsites. He was interested in the work of Boys Scouts and led many youth through the God & Country Program. He also ministered to the dying and the bereaved all his life. Rev. Gabany also was very active in community service in State College with the International Hospitality Council. In 1978, he was voted Sewickley Man of the Year, particularly for his service in the Kiwanis Club. Rev. Gabany served as secretary to the Western Pennsylvania Conference Board of Missions and as chairman of the Conference Board of Education. He also was among the founding group of the Pittsburgh Ministers' Federal Credit Union. His hobbies included reading, tennis, the Nittany Amateur Radio Club and fishing. Rev. Gabany was married in Sewickley June 29, 1957, to Aldene Louise WEAVER, who survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, Benjamin J. and Yuko Ikegami Gabany of Boalsburg; a daughter, Tricia Gabany-GUERRERO, and her husband, Narcizo Guerrero, of El Paso, Texas; three grandchildren, Rachel-Asako Gabany, Brandan-Keisuke Gabany and Gabriel Alexander GabanyGuerrero; and a sister, Patricia Gabany SAUER. A service of celebration will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in St. Paul United Methodist Church, State College. A service of consecration will be held at 1 p.m. Fri day in the Renfrew United Methodist Church. Donations in honor of Rev. Gabany may be sent to St. Paul United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 109 McAllister St., State College, Pa. 16801, designated for either Native American Higher Education or the Parish Nurse Program. Bradley J. Swartzfager, 35, of Youngstown, Ohio, formerly of Seneca and Tionesta, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at his residence.

Jane Kelley Jones, 76, of Augusta, Maine, sister of a Franklin resident, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1999, at her home on Three Cornered Pond. Born Aug. 2, 1923, at Rynd Farm near Rouseville, she was a daughter of Frank and Gertrude Kelley. Mrs. Jones attended the Bessemer schools and graduated from Bessemer High School. In the 1940s, she worked in a tool factory in Franklin; a pottery business in New Castle; and a steel mill in Youngstown, Ohio, for the duration of the war. Mrs. Jones, who was primarily a homemaker, later became a real estate agent. She was married April 17, 1941, to Clinton Foster Jones of Lowellville, Ohio, and he preceded her in death. They were married on his birthday. Mrs. Jones and her husband raised their family in New Castle and Youngstown, Ohio. She also lived in Duluth, Minn., and Houston, Texas. She frequently summered in Maine and moved there in 1997. Mrs. Jones enjoyed bridge, reading, watching animals and birds, bluegrassing and lively conversation. Surviving are a daughter, Cheri Kelly Jones of Hallowell, Maine; two sons, Kevin Frank Jones of Augusta, Maine, and Ronald Craig Jones of Canfield, Ohio; six grandchildren, Kimberly HLADUN and Jennifer RUFNER, both of Canfield, Ohio, Shannon Jones of New York, N.Y., Briar Kelly Jones and Benjamin Clinton KATZ, both of Hallowell, Maine, and Sarah Jane Katz of Tacoma Park, Md.; and two great-grandchildren, Kayla and Kyle Ruffner of Canfield, Ohio. She also is survived by a sister, Shirley Kelly CLARK of Franklin; many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grand-nephews; and her daughter-in-law, Joan Jones of Augusta, Maine. She remained close to her husband's relatives throughout her life. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by a son, Clinton Jones; a grandson, Clinton Jones; a brother, Walter Kelly; and a sister, Madalyn SANDERS. The family will have a private memorial service. In the spring, interment will be made in Lowellville Cemetery in Lowellville, Ohio. Memorial donations may be sent to Hospice Volunteers of Kennebec Valley, 150 Dresden Ave., Gardiner, Maine 04345. The Knowlton & Hewins Funeral Home, 1 Church St., Augusta, Maine, is in charge of arrangements.

The Progress News, Tuesday, November 23, 1999: KEVIN T. HUDDLESTON Kevin T. Huddleston, 40, of Eau Claire died Friday, November 12, 1999, at his home of natural causes. Born Dec. 31, 1958, in Pittsfield, Mass., he was the son of Harold Huddleston and Joyce SEDDON ERB. He was a graduate of Newton Hight School, Newton, N.J., and attended Brooklyn College of Pharmacy, Brooklyn, N.Y. Mr Huddleston was a 13-year veteran of the Coast Guard and served with the Navy Seals. He also was attached to the Atlantic Strike Force, a special service unit. He participated in special diving assignments in the Antarctic as well as being instrumental with the recovery of remains of the Air Florida aircraft crash on the 14th Street Bridge in Washington, D.C. Along with numerous regular military awards, he received the Humanitarian Service Award, the Antarctic Service Award and the Coast Guard Achievement Award with Gold Star. Following his military career, he earned both his bachelor's and master's degrees at Slippery Rock University. He was a member of the East Unity Presbyterian Church. Surviving are his companion, Brenda S. Baker, a daughter, Jacqueline Huddleston of Ladson, S.C.; his father, Harold Huddleston of Eau Claire; his mother and stepfather, Art and Joyce Erb of Clarksville, Va.; a sister, Debra Lee Huddleston of Clarksville, Va.; two brothers Neil Huddleston of Columbia, N.J., and Peter Huddleston of Elizabethtown, Ky.; and a number of nieces and nephews. A brother preceded him in death. Friends were received at the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Main Street, Eau Claire. Funeral services were held Tuesday, Nov. 16, 1999 at the funeral home. Burial was at Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, Va.
