Agnes Amon Gehringer, 93, a resident of St. Mary Home, Erie, mother of a Clarion resident, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999. She was a former resident of East 34th Street, Erie. Born Aug. 24, 1906, in Erie, she was a daughter of Andrew and Christina ALBERT Amon. Mrs. Gehringer was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Erie, and its Halltatias. She also was a member of St. Mary Auxiliary. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. Mrs. Gehringer was married to Elmer Gehringer, who died in 1971. Surviving are a daughter, Sister Bernadine Gehringer of Clarion; four grandchildren, Kathleen STEBINSKY and Michael Gehringer, Joseph Gehringer and John Gehringer; and 10 great-grand children. She also is survived by a sister, Mrs. Paul (Clara) HEWITT of Erie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Gehringer was pre ceded in death by a son, Elmer Gehringer, in 1994; three sisters, Ann HEBERLE, Margaret '' Maggie'' MEYER and Madeline KOHLER; and four brothers, John Amon, George Amon, Joseph Amon and Andrew Amon. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, 2502 Sassafras St., Erie. A prayer service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 509 E. 26th St., Erie. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery, Erie.
Carrie M. Johns, 82, of Kittanning, mother of Robert W. Johns of Franklin, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 1999, in White Cliff Manor, Greenville.
Nina Marie Osborn, 97, formerly of 1 Woodlawn Ave., died at 7 p.m. Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3. Born July 21, 1902, in Oil City, she was a daughter of George H. and Clara ROUGH HEWSON. She was a lifelong resident of Oil City. Mrs. Osborn was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church. She was married to Joseph M. Osborn, who died in 1949. Surviving are two sons, Donald L. Osborn and Thomas C. Osborn, both of Oil City; one daughter, Mrs. John M. (Jane) CUMMING of Oil City; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Osborn was pre ceded in death by a son, Joseph M. Osborn Jr.; three sisters, Esther VELOUDIS, Emma CONOBOY and Gertrude GIBONNS; and four brothers, Charles Hewston, Arthur Hewston, Robert Hewston and Fred Hewston. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Hutchinson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Poole, pastor of Calvary United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens.
