Mary Belle Master, 83, formerly of Oil City RD 2, died at 1 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 24, 1999, in Centenial Health Care Center in Greeley, Colo. Born Jan. 17, 1916, in Cranberry Township, she was a daughter of Charles Edward and Gladys Emma EVANS PERRET Mrs. Master was a member of Heckathorn United Methodist Church. She was married March 27, 1938, to Randall E. Master, who died March 23, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. David (Joyce) RUTH of Greeley, Colo.; three grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. She also is survived by a brother, Charles Perret ot Tionesta; and a sister, Betty SCHWAB of Bellefonte. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Master was preceded in death by two sisters, Frances LENORT and Alice BARSCZ. Committal services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Heckathorn Cemetery with the Rev. Randy Sweet, pastor of Heckathorn United Methodist Church, officiating. The Morrison Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements. ALICE M. TARR Alice M. Tarr, 74, a resident of Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3, died at 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Aug. 19, 1925, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Harry G. and Evelyn FORINGER REAM. Mrs. Tarr was a member of the Donation Hill Community Church. She enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, gardening and bingo. Mrs. Tarr was a homemaker. She was married Feb. 28, 1945, to Wallace E. "Elmer Tarr Sr., who died May 12, 1998. Surviving are three sons, Wallace "Joe" Tarr Jr. of Oil City, Larry Tarr and his wife, Diane, of Seattle, Wash., and Jeffrey L. Tarr and his wife, Vicki, of Cochranton; three daughters, Sandra L. Tarr of Clarion, Cathy A. CREWS of Cochranton and Mary A. REISINGER of Oil City; nine grandchildren, Wallace Tarr III of Shreveport, La., Amanda SNYDER, Zachary Snyder, Brandi Jo Tarr and Ryan Crews, all of Cochranton, Mrs. Todd (Michelle) HENRY of State College, Heather Reisinger of Oil City and Stacy MARTIN and Tyler SLAGLE, both of Franklin; and four great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother and his wife, Kenneth and Judy Ream of Franklin; and a sister, Patricia BUDZBANOWSKI of Meadville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Tarr was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer Ream and Donald Ream; and a sister, Grace ATTLEBERGER. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Dale Adams, pastor of the Donation Hill Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Cooperstown Cemetery. Memeorial donations may be made to a charity of one's choice.
William James Guenther, 87, of Leeper HCR, died Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Shippenville. Born Dec. 18, 1911, in Edgeworth, he was a son of George and Effie EVANS Guenther. Mr. Guenther worked in construction in Pittsburgh for many years. He then moved to the Leeper area where he worked in construction. He enjoyed flowers and gardening. Mr. Guenther was married in Clairton on July 13, 1935, to Dorothy "Dora" LINDER, who survives. Also surviving are a son and his wife, James and JoAnne Guenther of Valparaiso, Ind.; four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He also is survived by a brother, Theodore Guenther of West Mifflin; a sister, Mrs. Martha HAGUE of Storm Lake, Iowa; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Guenther was preceded in death by two brothers, George Guenther and Charles Guenther; and a grandson, Russell Guenther. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday in the Borland Funeral Home Inc., in Leeper. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Amity Cemetery at Newmansville. The family suggests memorials be made to the Farmington Area Ambulance Service.
Goldie G. Copenhaver, 90, of Hawthorn, died Thursday morning, Oct. 28, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion. Born April 29, 1909, in Oak Ridge, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of R. James and Alice G. SHRECENGOST TROUP. Mrs. Copenhaver attended Hawthorn Methdist Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Copenhave was married Feb. 6, 1925, to Charles R. Copenhaver, who died July 26, 1967. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Carl R. and Vera Copenhaver and James and Dot Copenhaver, all of Route 66, New Bethlehem, and Charles Copenhaver Jr. and Pearl of Hawthorn; five grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Copenhaver was preceded in death by four brothers, Howard Troup, Clair Troup, Clyde Troup and Henry Troup; one sister, Pearl Copenhaver; and one infant granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Rupert Funeral Home, New Bethlehem. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the funeral home with the Rev. Paul Mitchell, pastor of Hawthorn Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in New Bethlehem Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to a church of one's choice.
