Judy Hall Bowser, 59, of 318 Bissell Ave., died at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999 in her residence. Born June 10, 1940, in East Hickory, Forest County, she was a daughter of Alton G. and Effie ZUENDEL Hall. She was a graduate of West Forest High School, Tionesta. Mrs. Bowser was employed for several years at the Villa Italia Ristorante, The Checker Board and Singer's restaurants. She owned the J&D Rustic Cabin Restauant on Route 62 north of Tidioute for three years. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Stephen School and cafeteria, as well as quilting and crafts. Mrs. Bowser was married Aug. 8, 1986, to David M. Bowser, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Lynne SWANSON of Whitensville, Mass., and Luann LICHT of Titusville; two sons, Don Licht and his wife, Diane of Tulare, New Mexico, and David Licht of Erie; and five grandchildren, Shannon Swanson, Lorie Licht, D.J. Licht, Ashley Licht and Ryan Licht. She also is survived by two sisters and their husbands, Annis and Bruce ZIEGLER of Tidioute and Nancy and Paul ECK of Tionesta; four brothers and their wives, William H. and Mary Hall and Alton and Susan Hall, all of East Hickory, Gary D. and Betty Hall of Tidioute and Dave and Pat Hall of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters-in-law, Betty H. Hall of Tidioute and Mildred K. Hall of East Hickory; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bowser was preceded in death by her parents; and two brothers, Walter "Mike" Hall in 1987 and Donald "Gene" Hall in 1991. The Morrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation and no funeral services at this time. A memorial Mass will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County or to the American Cancer Society. Elsie Irene Brinker, 96, of 916 Bringerton Road, New Bethlehem, Porter Township, Clarion County, died at 4:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion. Born Nov. 22, 1902, in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, she was a daughter of John B. and Annie C. HAMM McMASTER. Mrs. Brinker had been a member of the Leatherwood Church since April 8, 1917, and was a Sunday school teacher there for many years. She was an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables and for many years was noted for her baked good. Mrs. Brinker was a homemaker. She was married May 24, 1933, to Austin L. Brinker, who died Feb. 20, 1971. Surviving are four daughters, Thelma J. DOVERSPIKE of Mercer, Mrs. Robert (Marie) HALL of Butler, Mrs. Ronald (Arlene) POWELL of New Bethlehem and Mrs. James (Fay) REICHARD of Mayport; seven grandchildren, Vicki WHITFIELD, Kevin Hall, Randy Powell, Gary Powell, Lisa BOOZER, Larry Reichard and Alan Reichard; and 10 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Kitt STOVER of Freeport. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brinker was preceded in death by three sisters, Zoe KUHNS, Fay MINICH and Nellie MOHNEY. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn, and from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday in the Leatherwood Church, Porter Township, Clarion County. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the church with the Rev. Gerald W. Davis, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Leatherwood Presbyterian Cemetery.

Margaret E. Emings, 82, of Brookville RD 4, died Tuesday, Oct. 26, 1999, in Jefferson Manor, Brookville. Born Aug. 4, 1917, in Eldred Township, Jefferson County, she was a daughter of Einsel and Lillie SILVIS TRAYER. Mrs. Emings was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, crocheting and gardening. She was married to Richard W. Emings, who died Feb. 9, 1995. Surviving are two sons, W. Joe Emings and his wife, Shirley, of Clarion RD 1, and Darl Emings and his wife, Karen, of New Bethlehem; one daughter, Mrs. Harry (Kay) BISH of Brookville RD 4; three brothers, Wilbert (Dub) Trayer of Brookville, Clyde Trayer of Mayport and Parnell Trayer of Summerville; one sister, Marie BEERS of Summerville; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents Mrs. Emings was preceded in death by an infant sister, Betty Jean Trayer. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. today in the McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville, with Glenn Moore officiating. Interment will be in Brookville Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Katherine Regina Stivganson, 92, a resident of assisted living at Beverly Healthcare-Oil City, died there at 6:50 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 27, 1999. Born Nov. 18, 1906, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Charles G. and Katherine ALLINGER FISCHER. Mrs. Stivanson attended Clarion Normal School and Edinboro State Teachers College. She taught at McCrea School in Pinegrove Township, Salina School and Polk State School. Mrs. Stivanson was a member of Good Hope Lutheran Church and the Martha Circle of the church. She also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. She was an avid golfer. Mrs. Stivanson was married June 17, 1933, to Vernon A. Stivanson, who survives. Also surviving are two sisters, Helen SUMMERVILLE of Sonoma, Calif., and Dorothy PEARSON of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Stivanson was preceded in death by eight brothers and three sisters. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in Good Hope Lutheran Church with the Rev. Philip H. Scher, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Brandon Cemetery. The family suggests memorials be made to the Salvation Army or to Good Hope Lutheran Church.
