M. LaRue Fulton, 77, of Shippenville, died Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, at her residence. Born April 7, 1922, in Monroe Township, Clarion County, she was the daughter of Audley L. and Minnie A. DEHNER LEWIS. She was married June 5, 1947, to Harold E. Fulton, who preceded her in death Sept. 9, 1980. Mrs. Fulton was employed for many years by the U.S. Postal Service as a clerk in the Shippenville ost office. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Shippenville and Clarion Lodge 267, Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Fulton is survived by three sons, Dana E. Fulton of Harrisburg, James L. Fulton of Lucinda and Christopher W. Fulton of Pittsburgh; one brother, William Lewis of Shippenville; and one sister, Audrey Hope KIMES of Shippenville. Also surviving are four grandsons and two granddaughters. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Fulton was preceded in death by one son, Bruce; and three brothers, Audley, Laurie and Jack. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at First United Methodist Church in Shippenville. Interment will follow in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Shippenville. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is in Charge of arrangements.
John Burton Myers, 90, of 1040 Carr Road, Conyers, Ga., formerly of Seneca, died at 7:15 a.m. Friday, Oct. 22, 1999, in Rockdale Hospital, Conyers, Ga. Born Dec. 28, 1909, in Seneca, he was the son of Grace Myers. He was raised by her parents. Mr. Myers was married Nov. 5, 1928, to Martha PERSING, who survives. Mr. Myers worked for the Pennzoil Company for 16 years, retiring in 1954. He then moved to Cheyenne, Wyo., and lived there until 1963, when he moved to Conyers, Ga. He was a security guard for Bio Lab in Conyers. Mr. Myers was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army from August 1944 to February 1946, with the South Philippines Liberation Lazon in the Pacific Theatre. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, the Philippines Liberation Ribbon and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre Ribbon. In addition to his wife, Mr. Myers is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Mona GOODMAN of Oil City, Mrs. Doloris Jean JACOBY of Covington, Ga., and Mrs. Carol STEELE and her husband, Bob, of Portland, Ore.; and two sons, Jack Myers of Laramie, Wyo., and Phillip Myers and his wife, Mary, of Conyers, Ga. He also is survived by 28 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren, 25 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Myers was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Myers. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. today in the Wheeler Funeral Home, Covington, Ga. Friends will also be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the Osenider Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Osenider Funeral Home with the Rev. Ted Cole, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Brandon Cemetery, Cranberry.
