William David Russell, 50, of Auburndale, Fla., a former Clarion resident, died Tuesday, Oct. 12, 1999, in Winter Haven Hospital, Winter Haven, Fla. He was born in Titusville May 7, 1949, and was raised in Claion by his grandparents, Howard "Howdy" and Catherine Russell. Mr. Russell was a retired Air Force veteran. He moved in 1994 from Clarion to Auburndale, where he was co-owner of Polk Airport Transit. Mr. Russell was a member of the Auburndale Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Winter Haven American Legion Post No. 8. Surviving are his wife, Carol Russell; two stepsons, Ronald L. TUCKER of Winter Haven, Fla., and Scott E. Tucker of Auburndale, Fla.; a stepdaughter, Sherri Tucker of Auburndale; and three stepgrandchildren. He also is survived by his grandmother, Catherine Russell of Clarion; a brother, George L. Russell of Shippenville; and his biological father, William CORNELL. Mr. Russell was preceded in death by his grandfather, Howard Russell; his biological mother, Jacqueline Cornell; a sister, Joann GROSS; and a brother, David Russell. Services were held Saturday, Oct. 16, in the Kersey Funeral Home in Auburndale, Fla.

Florence M. Rupert Dearolph, 93, a resident of Washington Street, Parker, for 72 years, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Sligo RD 1. Born June 15, 1906, near Saint Marys, W.Va., she was a daughter of David J. and Mary E. Rupert. Shortly after her birth, she moved with her parents and sister, Evelyn, to Hovey Township, West Foxburg. Mrs. Dearolph attended grade school in Foxburg and Grove City. She graduated in 1923 from Emlenton High School and graduated in 1925 from Slippery Rock State Normal School. She was married in November 1925 to Edwin J. "Eddie" Dearolph of Parker, who died in July 1974. He was retired from the Parker Post Office after 40 years of service. Mrs. Dearolph was a homemaker and very dedicated to her family. She and her sister, Evelyn, cared for their mother, Mary Rupert, for more than 33 years. She was a loyal member of the Parker Presbyterian Church for more than 70 years. She served many years as treasurer of the Presbyterian Women's Association. From 1974 into the 1990s, Mrs. Dearolph volunteered to coordinate and schedule senior citizen van trips to Kittanning and Butler. For many years, she recorded attendance at the noon meal for senior citizens at eh Parker Community Building. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Retired Navy Capt. David E. and Patricia Dearolph of Winter Springs, Fla., and Edward A. and Eleanor Dearolph of College Park, Ga.; four grandsons; two granddaughters; five great-grandsons; and six great-granddaughters. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Dearolph was preceded in death by her father in 1933; her mother in 1966; her sister, Evelyn, in 1980; and an infant daughter in 1931. Relative and friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home, Wayne Street, Parker. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Parker Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Richard Anschutz, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in the Parker Presbyterian Cemetery. Donald T. McFallden, 60, of Bredinsburg Road, Seneca, died at 11:55 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin after an extended illness. Born May 31, 1939, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Clarence J. and Alice Marie KLUCK McFadden. Mr. McFadden was a 1957 graduate of Oil City High School and was a peacetime veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy as a radioman aboard a destroyer. For the past 20 years, he had been employed by Seneca Printing and prior to that had worked 10 years for Venango Newspapers. Mr. McFadden was a member of St. Stephen Church, the Knights of Columbus Council No. 385 and the Oil City Assembly of the Fourth Degree, Knights of Columbus. He was a big Yankees fan and enjoyed all sports, along with hunting, car racing, golfing and gardening. Mr. McFadden was married in St. Andrew Church, Erie, June 30, 1979, to Patricia A. DRISCOLL SCHWABENBAUER, who survives. They were married by her brother, the Rev. William J. Driscoll III. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are the following stepchildren and their spouses: Dr. Michael and Patricia Schwabenbauer and Patrick and Jennifer Schwabenbauer, all of Erie; Mrs. Vicki FISCHER and her husband, the Rev. Mark Fischer, of North Huntingdon; Joseph and Vicky Schwabenbauer and Christopher and Connie Schwabenbauer, all of Oil City; and Mark and Diane Schwabenbauer of Flanders, N.J.; the following grandchildren, Anne, Kathleen, Emily and Matthew Schwabenbauer of Erie, Jacqueline, Jenna, Carrie and Craig Schwabenbauer of Oil City and Kiley Fischer of North Huntingdon; and three step-grandchildren, Sheila ROHAN of Cleveland, Ohio, Thomas Rohan of Erie and Carly WOJOCHOEWSKI of Flanders, N.J. He also is survived by two sisters, Joyce A. McFadden of Seneca and Sallie McFadden ZEGARELLI and her husband, Richard of Long Branch, N.J.; one niece, Nicole Zegaelli of New Jersey; one nephew, Steven Zegarelli of Japan; and one great-nephew, Devon SMALL of New Jersey. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday in St. Stephen Church. The Rev. William J. Driscoll, pastor of St. Michael Church, Fryburg, will preside. Interment will be in the family plot at Shaw Farm Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Knights of Columbus Building-Development Fund.

Katherine L. Holland, 79, of 1220 Chestnut St., Franklin, died Wednesday, Oct. 20, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin.

Clarion News, Thursday, October 21, 1999: ISOBEL CARRIER MASLAR Former Clarion-Limestone and Brookville school districts teacher CORSICA -- Isobel Carrier Maslar, 84, of RD 1 Corsica, died Monday, October 18, 1999, at her home Born May 8, 1915, in Clover Township, Jefferson County, she was a daughter of Roscoe and Ila ANDERSON Carrier. She was married to Roert Maslar, who preceded her in death. Mrs. Maslar was commissioned in 1944 into the Navy Women Accepted for Volumteer Emergency Service. During World War II, she instructed Navy pilots in radio communications. She was a secondary education teacher in Clarion-Limestone and Brookville school districts and Arizona. Mrs. Maslar was a member of the Summerville Presbyterian Church, Delta Kappa Gamma and the Association of Retired Teachers. She was a long-time volunteer of the Summerville Public Library. Surviving are a son and his wife, Robert Michael and Pauls (NORTON) Maslar of RD 1 Corsica; a daughter, Ila Anne Maslar of Grove City; a grandson, Paul Maslar of Kingfield, Texas; and a sister, Rebecca Carrier BIEBER of Murrysville. Her husband, parents and one brother, Joseph Carrier, preceded her in death. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday (today), October 21, in the McKinney Funeral Home, 345 Main St., Brookville. Interment will be in Jefferson Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Summerville Public Library, Summerville Presbyterian Church and Summerville Volunteer Fire Department.
