Erma J. Simpson, 72, of Knox RD 3, died at 3:41 p.m. Sunday, October 17, 1999, in Clarion Hospital following a lingering illness. Born Jan. 2, 1927, in Clarion County, she was a daughter of Albert and Mary Jane WOLFF WHITLING. Mrs. Simpson was a member of the Tukey City Church of God where she taught Sunday school for many years. She enjoyed listening to church music and crocheting afghans. Mrs. Simpson was a homemaker. She was married in Franklin Jan. 29, 1943, to Charley A. Simpson, who died Nov. 3, 1998. Surviving are three sons, Robert A. Simpson of Garner, N.C., Walter W. Simpson of Emlenton and Roger E. Simpson of Loncks Corner, S.C.; two daughters, Sandra L. RHOADES of Knox RD 3 and Karen S. RUTTER of Newark, Ohio; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a brother, Leroy Whitling of Emlenton; a sister, Mrs. Harold (Ann) Weeter of Michigan; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Simpson was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Whitling and Russell Whitling; a sister, Mae WINGARD; and a grandson. Calling hours also will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Turkey City Church of God. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the church with retired church pastor, A. Lucy F. Brown, 89, of 14 Division St., died at 1:35 p.m. Monday, Oct. 18, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born May 30, 1910, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Albert and Evelyn BRANDON McKEAN. Mrs. Brown was married May 15, 1926, to Wesley A. Brown, who died Aapril 9, 1990. Surviving are three sons, Robert Brown of Huert, N.C., and Samuel Brown and Tom Brown, both of Oil City; six dauhters, Fay J. FINK of Oil City, Peggy STERLING of Guys Mills, Valerie LEE of Spickard, Mo., Carol SCHENBERG of Titusville, Ruby DEVERICKS of Shinston, W.Va., and Vicky ELVIS of Pierpoint, Ohio; 32 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Brown was preceded in death by four sons, Ronald Brown, Theodore Brown, Richard Brown and James Brown; one brother; and four sisters. Maxine M. Morris, 76, of 44848 Mageetown Road, Centerville, died Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in Corry Memorial Hospital. Born July 8, 1923, in Rome Township, Crawford County, she was a daughter of Martin and Cora HELIKER. Mrs. Morris was raised and educated in the Spartansburg area, graduating from Sparta High School. She was married in Panama, N.Y., Aug. 4, 1949, to Fred H. Morris, who died May 30, 1992. Over the years, her time was spent caring for her family and helping her husband on the family's dairy farm. Mrs. Morris attended the Rometown Community Church. Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Margaret and Bill SWANTEK of Buells Corners; two sons, Andrew T. Morris oF Centerville and William H. Morris and his wife, Peggy, of Oil City; three stepsons, Paul W. Morris and his wife, Ruth, of Tidioute, Kirk R. Morris and his wife, Mary, of Warren, Pa., and Dennis C. "Randy" Morris of Milford, Conn.; six grandchildren; and six stepgrandchildren. She also is survived by three sisters, Cleo WOODWARD of Erie, Enza TERRILL of Corry and Kate PRING and her husband, David, of Erie; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Morris was preceded in death by three brothers, Lee Heliker, Martin Heliker Jr. and Milton Heliker. LOUIS DARVASSY Louis Darvassy, 77, formerly of Oil City RD 2, died at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, at Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3, where he had been a resident. Born June 24, 1922, in Kaskasmata, Hungary, he was a son of Louis and Helena KOVARY Darvassy. Mr. Darvassy was a Hungarian Freedom Fighter. He operated the Radio Shack store in Cranberry. Mr. Darvassy was married March 12, 1960, to the former Helen REIMANN, who died May 22, 1983. Surviving are a brother, Andrew Darvassy of Budapest, Hungary; two nieces, Csilla Darvassy and Judith Darvassy FEKETE, both of Budapest, Hungary; and a cousin, Martha BLADES of Indianapolis, Inc. In addition to her parents and wife, Mrs. Darvassy was preceded in death by a brother, Ernest Darvassy. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the Morrison Funeral Home. Helen B. Kreimendahl, 89, of Clarion, formerly of Tionesta RD 1, died Monday evening, Oct. 18, 1999, in Beverly Healthcare-Clarion. Born Feb. 10, 1910, in Hagerstown, Md., she was a daughter of William and Elizabeth KRAMER BEARLEY. Mrs. Kreimendahl had resided in the Newmansville area since 1965. She was employed as an operator by Bell Telephone Co. in Pittsburgh. Mrs. Kreimendahl was a member of First United Methodist Church of Clarion. She was married to Chester William Kreimendahl, who died June 24, 1986. Surviving are a stepson, Charles Kreimendahl of Kansas City, Mo.; five grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and an adopted granddaughter, Shela BROCIOUS. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Faller Funeral Home, Fryburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. William R. LaVelle Jr., associate pastor of First United Methodist Church of Clarion, officiating.
