George Brenton "Denny" Denny 51, of Titusville, RD 5, died at 8:03 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center. Born Aug. 9, 1948, in Franklin he was a son of Harold Bradley Denny and Dorothy O'BRIEN. He was married May 5, 1974, to the former Darla CARTER, who survives. Mr. Denny was a disabled U.S. Army verteran of the Viet Nam War. In his time of service, he rose to the rank of specialist 5 in the 20th Engineer Brigade. For his service, he was awarded a Purple Heart with four oak clusters, three Bronze Stars, an Army Commendation Medal, a Meritorious Achievement Award, a Merit Award, a National Defense Medal, a Military Merit Award, a Fidelity Efficiency Honor, and an Assistance to All Honor Award. He was a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was an avid shooter, hunter and reloader. He enjoyed fishing and firearms and spending time his family and friends. Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are four children, Mrs. Edward (Tonya) Denny of Oil City, Brent Denny of Titusville, Mrs. Theodore (Carrie) AITES of Stoneboro and Brent Dennis BUCKLEY of Tennessee; and a granddaughter, Kayne Isaah Denny of Oil City. Also surviving are seven brothers, Harold "Jack" Denny of Oil City, Delberty Denny of Oil City, Patrick Denny of Wyoming, Jeffrey Denny of Cooperstown, Reginald "Ernie" Denny of Franklin, Gary Denny of Colorado, and Gregory Denny of Franklin; and five sisters, Mrs. Lawrence (Christina) SCHILL of Venus, Mrs. Edmund (Pamela) CARTER Jr. of Franklin, Cynthia CLINGER of Franklin, Mrs. Steven (Brenda) DEETER of Franklin, and Mrs. Robert (Brigette) Dean of Franklin. Preceding him in death, in addition to his father, was a daughter, Darla Lynn Denny. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home in Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 1:15 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Timothy Rogers of Addison United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Lamey Cemetery. The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association, the Disabled American Veterans, the American Heart Association, and the American Diabetes Foundation. Ruth Fischer Seene, 86, of Mayfield Apts., Clarion, died Friday, Oct. 15, 1999, in the Clarion Hospital. She formerly resided in Marianne Estates, North East, and the Franklin area. Born Aug. 31, 1913, in Windburne, Clearfield County, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Helene KLIMEK SCHULTZ. She was raised and educated in the Philipsburg and New Kensington areas. She was married to the late Reinhold Fischer, chief designing engineer of the Alcoa plant in New Kensington. In 1962, she married the late John Seene of North East, farm manager of Sunshine Orchards and an employee of Mackay-Swift Dodge. Mrs. Seene worked at the Polk State School, the Boston Store and Sarah Reed Children's Home of Erie. She retired from Welch's Foods of North East in 1979. She was active as president or volunteer for various church and service organizations, and supported many charities. She enjoyed her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Surviving are three children, Mrs. Berlie (Rochelle) ETZEL of Shippenville RD 1, Charles Reinhold Fischer of Missouri, and Karen Sunny Fischer of Los Angeles; four grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Also surviving is her brother, Jack SERWAY of Nevada. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and husbands, were five sisters. She will be interred in the family plt in Alexandria, Pa., at a private family gathering at a later date. There will be no visitation. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the church or charity of one's choice. The Goble Funeral Home in Clarion is in charge of the arrangements.

Eleanor M. Galletta, 67, of 13603 Old Route 8 North, Titusville, died at 8:45 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 17, 1999, in her residence following a lengthy illness. Born Feb. 18, 1932, in Oil City, she was daughter of the late Victor and Angeline PUZAK CIEPLECHOWICZ and her step-father, Rosario "Jim" Galletta. She graduated from Oil City High School in 1950. She was married Aug. 18, 1951, in Titusville, to Charles J. Galletta Sr., who survives. Mrs. Galletta formerly worked for W.T. Grant's, Sam's Restaurant, Foster-Forbes Glass of Oil City and Spartywood. She was a member of St. Titus Church and a former member of the Polish National Alliance. Mrs. Galletta enjoyed bingo and crocheting. Surviving, in addition to her husband, are six children, Angela OPELT and her husband, Patrick, of Titusville, Rosario Galletta and his wife, Mary, of Franklin, Anthony V. Galletta and Joseph P. Galletta, broth of Titusville, Charles J. Galletta Jr. of Seneca, and Pamela WEBB and her husband, Collin, of Titusville; 10 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a sister, Contance BACKMER of Girard; a brother, Thaddeus Cieplechowicz of Sanger, Calif.; a step-brother, Joseph Galletta of Titusville; two step-sisters, Michelina Cieplechowicz and Rosemarie WRIGHT, both of Erie; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents and step-father, were three brothers, Stanley, Henry and Alexander Cieplechowicx, a step-sister Carmella MOYER, and a step-brother, Ignatius Galletta. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Leo N. Hennes Funeral Home in Titusville. A Christian Wake Service will be conducted at 8:45 p.m. Tuesday by Sister Mary Edith, St. Titus Church pastoral assistant. Mass of Christian Burial will be concelebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. Titus Church by thee Rev. Rocco A. Tito, pastor of St. Walburga Church. Interment will be in St. Catharine Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Venango County Visiting Nurses Association Hospice, 308 Seneca St., Oil City.

Edna Mae Hines, 91, of Polk RR 1, formerly of Grove Ciy, died at 10:45 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, 1999, in Orchard Manor, Pine Township, Mercer County, of natural causes.
