Martha Hamil, 68, of Roxburg, an Emlenton native and formerly of Grove City, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in UPMC Lee Regional in Johnstown. Born Oct. 7, 1931, in Emlenton, she was a daughter of R. Condon and Hazel BROCK SOLLINGER. She was a graduate of Slippery Rock University and a 1952 graduated of West Penn Hospital School of Nursing, Pittsburgh. Mrs. Hamil was employed as a registred nurse with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Department of Corrections. She was a member of the Grove Avenue United Methodist Church in Johnstown. She was married to Kenneth C. Hamil, who preceded her in death. Surviving are two sons and their wives, Walter C. and Joyce COKAIN Hamil of Midland, Texas, Thomas B. and Jennifer QUINN Hamil of Hopkinton, Mass.; two daughters, Carol H. TAYLOR of Roxbury and Mrs. George (Amie) MATIS of Atlantis, Fla.; and four grandchildren, Alyssa and Kenneth Hamil and Ian and Alex Taylor. Also surviving are two brothers, Everett Sollinger of Cranberry and David Sollinger of Shippenville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Hamil was preceded in death by two brothers, John Sollinger and Norman Sollinger. Angelo L. Engro, 72, founder of Angelo's Beauty Supplies, 1205 State St., Erie, a Rimersburg native, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in St. Vincent Health Center, Erie. Born July 12, 1927, in Rimersburg, he was a son of Anthony and Centina RIZZO Engro. He was a graduate of Union Joint Hight School in Rimersburg and served with the U.S. Navy during World War II. In 1947, Mr. Engro moved to Erie where he worked for General Electric. In 1964, he opened Angelo's, a wholesale beauty supply and equipment distributorship that services the tri-state area. He remained active in the business until the time of his death. Mr. Engro was a member of St. Peter Cathedral, Erie, where he served as a lector and usher. He was an avid support of many community organizations. Because of his love for jazz, he became involved with WQLN radio and was a sponsor of the Joey Digiorgio jazz program. He also supported the Maria House Projects and the City Mission. Mr. Engro was a member of the United Way of Erie, County's Alexis de Tocqueville Society. His hobbies included jazz and a love for cooking. Surviving are his wife, Joan TIMON Engro; seven children, Kathleen Engro, Mrs. Jerome (Denise) SWABB, Mrs. Gregory (Deborah) SWABB, Anthony L. Engro and his wife, Lisa, and Mrs. Christpher (Angela) FATICA, all of Erie, Stephen Engro and his wife, Kristin, of New Orleans, La., and Karen Engro and her husband, Jules LOBEL of Pittsburgh; and 14 grandchildren. He also is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Nicholas Engro of Mission, Texas, Teresa McMASTER and James Engro, both of Rimersburg, Angeline HOGHOUGHIE of Butler, Michael Engro of Los Angeles, Calif., and Joseph Engro of Las Vegas, Nev. In addition to his parents, Mr. Engro was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Engro; a sister, Florence Engro; and a granddaughter, Maria Swabb. Roland R. "Pete" Wedekind 71, of Shippenville RD 1, died at 11:15 p.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at his residence following a short illness. Born March 11, 1928, at Shippenville RD 1, he was a son of D.C. "Doc" and Mary COHLHEPP Wedekind. Mr. Wedekind had worked for PennDOT as an Elk Township supervisor. In his earlier years, he drilled gas and oil wells in the area. He was an Army veteran, having served in the Korean War. Mr. Wedekind belonged to several clubs and organizations including the Rod and Gun Club and the Berlin-Bowser American Legion, both in Knox, the VFW, Moose and Eagles, all in Clarion. He njoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, horseshoes and card playing. Mr. Wedekind previously was married to Shirley FREDERICK Wedekind, who survives. Also Surviving are a daughter, Kathy L. WEAVER of Franklin; five sons, Steven Shane Wedekind of Knox RD 1, Kevin Wedekind of Shippenville RD 1, Daniel Wedekind of Lamartine, Pete Wedekind and Grey Wedekind both of Shippenville RD 1; 11 grandchildren, Nicole Weaver LAUER, Randall " Buck" Weaver, Jon Weaver, Scott Wedekind, Brian Wedekind, Kyle Wedekind, Brian Wedekind, Kyle Wedekind, Sarah Wedekind, Ryan Wedekind, Alyce Wedekind, Evan J. Wedekind and Ethan Wedekind; two great-grandchildren, Kaci Lynn Weaver and Samantha SCHWABENBAUER; a sister, Margaret RATAY of Heilwood; a brother, Frank Wedekind of Titusville; and many nieces and newpews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Wedekind was preceded in death by two sisters, Hazel Wedekind HODGE and an infant; and two brother, Donald Wedekind and Burl Wedeking. There will be no visitation. A family memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in the Wedekind Cemetery in Shippenville RD 1. There will be a gathering at 2 p.m. following the service for friends and family at Mr. Wedekind's home in Shippenville RD 1. Nicole L. Reddinger, 20, of Oil City, died unexpectedly Sunday morning, Oct. 10, 1999, at her residence Born Aug. 28, 1979, in Clarion, she was a daughter of David and Kim Reddinger and Sue and Larry SHEFFER, all of Cranberry RD 1. She was a 1997 graduate of Cranberry High School. Miss Reddinger was employed at Wal-Mart in Cranberry. She was a member of the Heckathorn United Methodist Church. Miss Reddinger belonged to a bowling league and played softball. Surviving, in addition to her parents, are three brother, Daid Reddinger III of Fort Campbell, Ky., and Joshua L. Reddinger and Zachary Sheffer, both of Cranberry RD 1. She also is survived by her paternal grandparents, Shirley and Keith RANKIN of Knox RD and Herbert and Dianne OSCHMAN of Seneca; maternal grandparents, Lucille McFARLAND of Polk RD 1 and William and Joan Sheffer of Cranberry RD 1; and paternal great-grandmothers, Dorothy COTHERMAN of Knox and Sally REX of Shippenville RD 1. Also surviving is a special friend, Keith "Bear" Whitling of Oil City. Miss Reddinger was preceded in death by her paternal grandather, David Reddinger, in 1993, and her maternal grandfather, James McFARLAND, in 1988. Thomas G. Brown, 91, of Short Drive, Westfield, N.Y., formely of Oil City and West 10th St., Erie, died Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, in Hamot Medical Center, Erie. Born April 18, 1908, in Pittsburgh, he was a son of Thomas and Isabelle STEWART Brown. He had resided in Westfield since 1977. Mr. Brown had been a tool design engineer with Reed Manufacturing of Erie for 25 years. He had been the president of the American Society of Tool Manufacturing Engineers, Erie. He was a member of the Westfield Lodge No. 118, Loyal Order of the Moose. Mr. Brown was an avid photorapher and enjoyed traveling with his wife throughout the United States. He also enjoyed working on projects around his home. He was married May 1, 1946, to Marguerite MORGAN, who survives. Also surviving are a brother and his wife,George S. and Wilma Brown of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two sisters, Nellie LANGLEY of Seattle,Wash., and Mrs. David (Rose) EDWARDS of Cooperstown, N.Y. In addition to his parents, Mr. Brown was preceded in eath by his stepfather, Ambros McSPARREN; a sister, Isabelle COTTINGHAM; and a brother, John McSparren. The Mason Funeral Home, 37 Clinton St., Westfield, N.Y., is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation and services will be private. Elmer R. "Kelly" Nunemaker, 88, of Johnstown, formerly of Oil City, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, in the home of his son, Chip Nunemaker, in Salem, Wis., following a lingerling illness. Born Oct. 14, 1910, in Van, he was a son of Herbert Elmer and Lena Maggie FLOCKERZI Nunemaker. Mr. Nunemaker was a graduate of Rockland High School, graduated in 1947 from Penn State with a bachelor of arts degree and later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a master's degree in religious education. He was a Methodist minister for 20 years. Mr. Nunemaker worked a number of years at United Natural Gas. He also was a social worker at Morganza in Canonsburg, a facility for juvenile offenders, and came back to Oil City where he was the director of Family Service and Children's Aid Society. He also taught school in Pleasantville and Rocky Grove and then worked for Job Corps and the Bureau of Indian Affairs In Bemidji, Minn. Mr. Nunemaker enjoyed wood carving and writing and authored a book of poetry titled "Moccasin Trails." He loved nature. He was married Feb. 1, 1937, to Ruth COX of Van. She survives. They celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary this year. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son and his wife, Elmer "Chip" and Peggy Nunemaker of Salem, Wis.; four daughters and their spouses, Fran COOK, Ginny and Bob TALOR of Oil City, Lis and Kent CREAMER of Corona, Calif., and Mary and Jack TURNER of Johnstown; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He also is survived by two sisters, Mary BELL of Van and Pearl SLOAN of Clintonville. In addition to his parents, Mr. Nunemaker was preceded in death by two brothers, George Nunemaker and Earl Nunemaker. Private services were held in Wisconsin. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday, his birthday, in Grace Hall of Grace United Methodist Church in Oil City with the Rev. Grace Bell McClimans, 98, formerly of 1339 Liberty St., Franklin, died at 6:45 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in The Caring Place, Franklin. Born April 18, 1901, in Jamestown, Pa., she was a daughter of Harry A. and Anna L. BELL McClimans. Miss McClimans was a graduate of Franklin High School, attended Wheaton College in Massachusetts, received her bachelor of arts degree at the University of Wisconsin and received her master of arts degree at Stanford University in California. She was a well-known teacher in the Franklin schools for 35 years, retiring in 1963. She was adviser of the Class of 1939. Miss McClimans was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Franklin, where she taught youth and adult Sunday school for many years. She was a member of the Franklin Teachers Association, the Venango County Retired Teachers Association and the National Teachers Association. She also was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma and Gamma Phi Beta. Miss McClimans was an adviser for the Red Cross Club and worked with the Red Cross Bloodmobile. She was a member of the Monday Bridge Club and was an associate member of The Franklin Club for more than 50 years. The Huff Funeral Home in Franklin is in charge of arrangements. There will be no visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Mark McCalla, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Jamestown, Pa. Alma C. Sandrock, 88, of Fertigs, Oil City RD 2, died Sunday morning, Oct. 10, 1999, at the home of her daughter, Hazel BURGDORFER, of Venus RD 1. Born Oct. 31, 1910, in Leeper, she was a daughter of Walter W. and Lola May KUHNS GILMORE. Mrs. Sandrock, a lifelong resident of the Venus area, was a 1929 graduate of Farmington High School where she was valedictorian. She attended her 70th class reunion Sept. 11 of this year. She was a member of the United Evangelical Church of Venus where she was a Sunday school teacher, Vacation Bible School teacher and a member of the Missionary Society for many years. She also was very active with the Sew and Sews of the church and last sewed with the group Sept. 20. Mrs. Sandrock was an original member of the Fertigs Senior Citizens Group. She was a homemaker and was married in Fertigs Sept. 14,1931, to John L. "Jack" Sandrock, who died Sept. 16, 1980. Surviving are one son, Harold "Mike" Sandrock of Venus; four daughters, Mrs. Robert (Delore) JOHNSON of San Antonio, Texas, Mrs. Herman (Hazel) BURGDORFER and Mrs. Robert (Denice) STEPHENS, both of Venus RD 1, and Mrs. Wayne (Shirley) MOCK of Clarion; 16 grandchildren, Steven Johnson, Susan SMITH and Pamela WILSON, all of Texas, Mark Burgdorfer and Michael Sandrock, both of Oil City, David Burgdorfer and Tanya RENNARD, both of Shippenville, Brenda McKINNEY, John Stephens and Darlene HOCKMAN, all of Venus, Sharon AITES of Colorado, Clifford Mock and Jeanette JOHNS, both of Kossuth, Jeffery Stephens of Franklin, Timothy Stephens with the U.S. Army and Melanie Mock of Clarion; and 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Sandrock was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Doris Irene Sandrock; and two sisters, Mabel WAGNER and Elise Stora THERIOT. Stella M. Sustak,79, of 658 Atlantic Ave., Franklin, died at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 10, 1999, in Sugar Creek Station, Franklin RD 3. Born May 6, 1920, in Franklin, she was a daughter of George and Anna SOBOTA Sustak. Miss Sustak worked as a receptionist at Franklin Steel. She was a member of St. Patrick Church, Franklin. Miss Sustak liked to sew and make flower arrangements. Surviving are a special friend, Elsie Blake of Franklin; a special niece and nephew, Tiffany and Harry CHRISMAN of Beaver; and several other nieces, nephews and cousins. She also is survived by two brothers, John Sustak and Frank Sustak, both of Franklin; and four sisters, Almeda WILSON, Sophie SAYERS and Mildred MURPHY, all of Franklin, and Pauline VanDYKE of Oil City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Joe Sustak, Thomas Sustak, Stanley Sustak, George Sustak and Edward Sustak; and a sister, Majorie GRISANTI. Isobel C. Yates, 73, of 34 Paxton Road, Sandy Lake, a retired employee of Polk Center and former Manifold Co. employee in Franklin, died at 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 9, 1999, in UPMC Horizon, Greenville, after an extended illness.

Craig Farrow, 38, of 1328 Eagle St., Franklin, who worked at Easter Seals of Western Pennsylvania and TeleReach in Franklin, father of Cory David Farrow of Franklin, died suddenly Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999.
