Anna E. "Betty" Winger, 66, of 121 Bissell Ave., Oil City, died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Hamot Medical Center in Erie. Born Dec. 11, 1932, she was a daughter of William KELLNER and Mary BOWERS Kellner. Mrs. Winger attended Oil City schools and lived in the Oil City area her entire life. She previously worked at the Oil City Holiday Inn and as a cafeteria worker in the Oil City schools. Mrs. Winger was last employed as a crossing guard for the Oil City School District. She was married July 1, 1950, to Richad E. Winger Sr., who preceded her in death Oct. 28, 1978. She was an avid bingo player. Mrs. Winger is survived by two sons, William Winger and Richard E. Winger, Jr., both of Oil City; four daughters, Deborah Winger, Connie METZ, Vickie Winger and Kelly MOON, all of Oil City; two brothers, Carl and Vaughn Kellner of Buffalo, N.Y.; one sister, Marilyn MAYS of Buffalo, N.Y.,; and several nieces and newphews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Winger was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack and Richard Kellner, and an infant brother, Donald Kellner. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Hutchinson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the funeral home with the Rev. Donald Poole, pastor of the Calvary United Methodist Church, Oil City, officiating. Interment will follow in Graham Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Visiting Nurses Association of Venango County.

Lewis A. Knarr, 77, of 413 West Front St., Oil City, died at 6:32 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Franklin following an extended illness. Mr. Knarr was admitted Oct. 4, 1999. Born Nov. 29, 1921, in Oil City, he was a son of Elizabeth and Aaron Knarr. He was a veteran of World War II where he served with the SCU at Camp White, Ore. He served for three years and was discharged at Fort Lewis, Wash. Mr. Knarr was self-employed as a commercial artist from 1960 until his semi-retirement in 1984. Before his self-employment, he was a package designer in the glass container division of the Oil City Glass Co. He was of the Lutheran faith. Mr. Knarr is survived by a sister, Mrs. S.C. (Mary) BAILEY of Beaver; a brother-in-law and his wife, Mr. Thomas E. and Ruth HUGHES REA Jr. of Oil City; and two nieces, Linda HUMMEL of Barberton, Ohio and Kathy BAYLOR of Apollo. Mr. Knarr was preceded in death by a sister, Maxine Rea; and a niece, Chris SIDORA. There will be no viewing or visitation. A private committal service will take place at the convenience of the family. Interment will be in the Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. Memorials can be made to the Oil City Library or to the charity of one's choice. The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Collins, 71, of 37 Fisher Ave., Oil City, died at 6:08 a.m. Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Franklin. Born March 13, 1928, in Oil City, she was a daughter of James H. and Helen KANE COURTNEY. Mrs. Collins was a graduate of Oil City High School and attended Villa Maria Academy and Penn State. Prior to her marriage she worked for the Pennsylvania Depatment of Health in the State Health Center in Oil City. On Sept. 1, 1951, she married John W. Collins, Jr. in St. Stephen Church. Mr. Collins survives. She was a member of St. Joseph Church, the Belle Letters Club, the YWCA and Wanango Country Club. She also was past president of the Children's Aid Society and the Winnifred Tonkin Guild. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Morrison Funeral Home in Oil City. A mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Joseph Church with the Rev. John Swoger, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery at the Convenience of the family. Memorials can be made to the VNA Home Care or to the St. Joseph Church Calvary Cemetery Fund.

Frank Joseph "Red" Sagan, 90, of 115 Pine St., Franklin, died at midnight, Friday, Oct. 8, 1999, at The Caring Place.
