Esther L. Rupert, 77, of Emlenton RD 3, Richland Township, Clarion County, died late Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at Beverly Health Care in Shippenville following a lengthy illness. Born May 30, 1922, in Clarion County, she was a daughter of the late John and Flora Jane HANNIWALT HUNSBERGER. She was a member of the Wesleyan Church of West Freedom. A homemaker, Mrs. Rupert enjoyed making ceramics and crocheting. She was married to William E. Rupert, who preceded her in death in 1976. She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John (Patricia J.) McHENRY of Emlenton RD 3; a sister, Della STINE of Oil City; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son Robert Rupert: a daughter, Faye Rupert; three brothers, Ralph, Albert and Melvin Hunsberger; and four sisters, Ora McKAERN; Ruth REEDY, Wilda WOLFF and Dorothy ELDER. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Christopher M. Hile Funeral Home in St. Petersburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday from the funeral home with the Rev. Cecil Craig Jr. of the Wesleyan Chuch of West Freedom, officiating. Interment will be in the St. Petersburg cemetery.
Alice M. Mauersberg, 67, of Sigel RD 1, died Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, at her home. Born Sept. 27, 1932, in Perry Township, Clarion County, she was a daughter of Don CALLENDER and Martha BARGER Callender. On Jan. 1, 1955, she married Robert J. Mauersberg in Brookville. She was a homemaker and a grid operator for Sylvania in Brookville. Mrs. Mauersberg was a member of St. Dominic Church in Siegel She enjoyed NASCAR racing and traveling and spent her winters in Ft. Meyers, Fla. Mrs. Mauersberg is survived by two sons, John R. Mauersberg of Sigel and William M. Mauersberg of Sigel RD 1; and a sister, Marian HEASLEY of Strattanville RD 1. She was preceded in death by her parents; a step-father, Lloyd SHERMAN; and two brothers, Richard Sherman and Russell Sherman. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 1 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the McKinney Funeral Home in Brookville. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Dominic Church in Sigel with the Rev. Joseph Staszewski officiating. Interment will be in Saint Eusebius Cemetery in East Brady. George T. "Tom" Courson, 48, of Franklin RD 2, died unexpectedly at 5:47 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 30, 1999, in the emergency room at Northwest Medical Center in Franklin. Born Jan. 17, 1951, in Franklin, he was a son of the late John B. Courson and the late Mildred KEEFER LONG. Mr. Courson was a 1969 graduated of Rocky Grve High School. He was employed at General Electric in Grove City. Mr. Courson enjoyed hunting, sports and his family. He served in the Navy from 1969 to 1975 -- two years in the Great Lakes and four years based in Hawaii. He was married Aug. 27, 1977, in the First Church of the Nazarene by the Rev. Mayne Minich to the former Kim L. EXLEY, who survives. Also surviving are one son, Christopher T. Courson at home; three daughters, Jessica L. Courson and Jill L. Courson, both attending Geneva College in Beaver Falls, and Jamie L. Courson at home; two brother, Richard Courson and his wife, Sandy, of Indiana, and Frank Courson and his wife, Patti, of Rantoul, Ind.; seven sisters, Mary Loui SCHELL and her husband, Raymond, of Salem, Ohio, Connie CHAPIN and her husband, George, of Locust Grove, Va., Thanna RUMMEL and her husband, Charles, of Mount Union, Esther GRAHAM and her husband, Sam, of Acworth, Ga., Denna O'POLKA and her husband Drew, Nancy PETERSON and her husband, Richard, and Karen HOVIS, all of Franklin; aqs well as several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Courson was preceded in death by a sister, Jacqueline McDANIEL and a brother, John L. "Larry" Courson. The family suggest memorial contriutions be made to the children's education fund which is to be established in the near future.
Linda R. Williams, 54, of Baumgart Lane, Butler, died Frieday, Oct. 1, 1999, at the Chicora Medical Center. Born May 2, 1945, she was a daughter of James Vern and Helen Ruth LUCAS SHANAFELT. Ms. Williams was a residential companion at Lifesteps Inc. in Butler for three years. She was of the Protestant faith. Ms. Williams is survived by two daughters, Mrs. James (Deborah) REED of Shippenville and Mrs. Paul (Connie) MAGNANI of Portland, Ore.; two sons, Stephen ERDOS of Erie and Jamie Williams of Rimersburg; four brothers, Roger Shanafelt of Vermont, Dallas Dean Shanafelt of Callensburg, Arthur Shanafelt of Emlenton and Ronald Shanaflet of Rimersburg; six sisters, Mrs. Samuel (Barbara) BROTHERS of Fairview, Mrs. Clyde (Darlene) RODGERS of Butler, Mrs. Benjamin (Sandra) BEICHNER of Pine City, Mrs. Jack (Patricia) ALLMENDINGER of Knox, Ms. Pamela KISNER of Petrolia and Mrs. Donald (Robin) IVOL of Bethel Park; eight grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
