Kimberly Lynn King, 41, of Oil City RD 2, died at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, in the West Unit of Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Aug. 24, 1958, in Franklin, she was a daughter of Henry and Ruth JOHNSON KIGHTLINGER. Mrs. King was a member of Fertigs United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker,and she enjoyed cooking, camping and being with her children and grandchildren. Mrs. King was married March 27, 1976, to Leslie M. King, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Thomas A. King and his wife, Heather, with the U.S. Navy in Camarillo, Calif., Craig M. HUGHES and his fiancee, Kodie, of Franklin, Mrs. Theodore (Melissa) WHITE of Seneca and Mrs. John (Amber) O'ROURKE of Titusville; and six grandchildren, Justin White, Hannah White, Kayla Hughes and Jared Hughes, all of Seneca, Payden King of Camarillo, Calif., and Brendan Anderson of Franklin. She also is survived by her stepfather, Hays ADAMS of Franklin; a brother and his wife, William and Elaine Kightlinger of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Clyde (Connie) OAKES of Franklin and Mrs. Robert (Nancy) DEAL of Sugarcreek; and 13 nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jackie McCARTY. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Robert W. Gardinier Funeral Home, Franklin. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in Fertigs United Methodist Church with Pastor James Bartholomew officiating. He was be assisted by the Rev. Jerry Kightlinger, cousin of Mrs. King. Interment will be in Fertgs Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Visiting Nurses Association.

Blanche Majdanik, 89, a resident of Arden Courts, Pittsburgh, since May 1998, formerly of 335 Emerald St., died at 3 a.m. Wednesda, Aug. 25, 1999, in UPMC Passavant Hospital, North Hills, Pittsburgh. Born Oct. 28, 1909, in Oil City, she was a daughter of John and Valeria RYZCKO Majdanik. Miss Majdanik worked for 45 years at General Telephone Co. in Oil City, retiring in 1974 as supervisor of traffic records. She was an active member of the Assumption B.V.M. Church where she was a member of the choir and played an active part in running bingo. Miss Majdanik was an active member of the Polish Women's Alliance Group No. 555, serving as secretary until January 1998. She also participated in many of the plays performed by that organization. She was an avid quilter and belonged to the YWCA Quilters Group. She enjoyed all types of needlework. Surviving are three sisters, Jean KROCZEK of Ambridge, Irene BIENKO of Dover, Ohio, and Pearl SWONDER of Erie; and one brother, John Majdanik of McKeesport. She also is survived by four godchildren, who played an important role in her life: Virginia N. Sloan and Stephen C. Sloan, both of Pittsburgh, Helen Coutroure of Detroit, Mich., and Jerry Kroczek of Portersville; and many nieces and nephews and their families. In Addition to her parents, Miss Majdanik was preceded in death by a sister, Mildred "Emilia" NOWICKI; and two brothers, Stanley J. Majdanik and the Rev. Albin Majdanik. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Assumption B.V.M. Church with the Rev. John W. Swoger, pastor of St. Joseph Church, as the presider. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memoials may be made to the Assumption B.V.M. Church Development Fund.

Florence Weaver Peavy, 93, a longtime resident of Attleboro Retirement Village in Langhorne, formerly of Oil City, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 1999. Mrs. Peavy was born and raised in Oil City and was the only person in her family to attend college. She was a graduate of the University of Michigan where she was the only female majoring in Old English. She had a love for music, was an accomplished pianist and participated in groups as recently as 1995. Mrs. Peavy was married for 37 years to Claude C. Peavy, who preceded her in death. Surviving are three sons and their wives, Robert A. and Nancy Peavy of Bethesda, Md., Richard E. and Phyllis Peavy of Wilmington, Del., and James M. and Anne Peavy of Yardley; a daughter and her husband, Susan P. and Daniel LEWIS of Morgan Hill, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Thomas, Edward, David, James, Matthew, Kirsten and Susan; and three great-grandchildren. She also is survived by a sister, Lavina YOUNG of Prospect Park. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, in Attleboro Retirement Village Main Auditorium, 290 E. Winchester Ave., Langhorne. A reception of light refreshments will be served immediately following the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the tax deductible Attleboro Residents Fund, 290 E. Winchester Ave., Langhorne, Pa. 19047. The Dunn-Givnish Funeral Home, 378 s. Bellevue Ave., Langhorne, is in charge of arrangements.

James B. Sayers, 68, of Bartow, Fla., a New Bethlehem native, brother of Ruth Sayers REDDINGER of Shippenville and a former teacher in the Clarion Area School District, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999 in Florida.

Larry L. Cotterman, 58, of Orr's Trailer Park, Franklin RD 3, a Franklin native and a lifelong truck driver to Engles Trucking, died Wednesday, Aug. 25, 1999, Allegheny General Hospital, Pittsburgh.
