Quinton J. "Jeff" Wolbert, 79, of Snydersburg, Lucinda RR 1, died Monday morning, Aug. 23, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Oil City. Born Aug. 2, 1920, in Snydersburg, he was a son of Edward F. and Genevieve SCHUPP Wolbert. He was married April 19, 1945 to Helen L. MILFORD, who preceded him in death on June 26, 1999. He was a lifelong resident of Snydersburg. Mr. Wolbert enlisted in the Army and was in the first group to go overseas. He served with the First Armored Division in North Africa, and was in the Anzio Beach invasion. He was awarded the Purple Heart and offered a commission after serving three years overseas. Mr. Wolbert drove truck for Zacherl Coal Company of 12 years. He owned and operated the Mobil station in Snydersburg for 20 years. He then worked 14 years for PennDOT. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Lucinda. Mr. Wolbert is survived by two brothers, Regis J. Wolbert of Snydersburg and Dennis J. Wolbert of Redland, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Nicholas (Grace) TROESE of Clarion. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Wolbert and Marion M. HEPFL; and six brothers, Edward Jr., Leander J., Norman A., Howard A., Earl P. and Gerald A. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Faller Funeral Home in Fryburg. A parish prayer service will be held at 3:45 p.m. today in the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celerated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Joseph Church in Lucinda with the Rev. Joseph Czarkowski, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens in Cranberry. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. Joseph School in Lucinda or to the Clarion County Humane Society.

Galen Levi Ober, 81, of Hilliad, Ohio, died Satuday, Aug. 21, 1999, at Doctors West Hospital in Columbus, Ohio. Born Jan. 13, 1918, he was a son of George and Nora Ober. He was an active memeber of the New Covenant Church of the Brethren in Powell, Ohio. Mr. Ober graduated from high school in Clymer and also graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. He received a master's degree from the University of Pittsburgh. He taught at the high school and university levels, including Clarion University. Mr. Ober was an avid fisherman and hunter and enjoyed exploring covered bridges. He was a coach of the Clarion University rifle team and treasurere of the Pennsylvania State Faculty Union. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Leah; a son and his wife, David and Kathy Ober of Bethlehem; three daughters, Lois and her husband, John BISHOP and Esther Ober, both of Upper Arlington, Ohio and Ruth and her husband, Tom RINELLA of Hilliard; several grandchildren, David and James Ober and Matthew and Christine Rinella of Pennsylvania; two brothers and their wives, Clarence and Marian Ober and Clyde and Helen Ober of Pennsylvania; a sister, Naomi EMIGH of Pennsylvania; numerous other relatives; and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Nada Ober and Leona BUTTERBAUGH. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Todd Funeral Home, 5265 Norwich St., Hilliard. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, at the New Covenant Church of the Brethren, 2209 Summitview Road, Powell, with the Rev. Ronald Fleming officiating. Interment will be in Alton Cemetery in Alton, Ohio. In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the church building fund.

Robert Anthony Drohn, 20, of 1591 Hydetown Road, Titusville, died at 8:10 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, following a car accident on Route 8 north of Union City. Born June 3, 1979, in Youngstown, Ohio, he was a son of Bryon WILCOX and Cynthia Drohn KELLEY. He was a 1998 graduate of Titusville High School, and he was accepted to attend Mt. Vernon Bible College in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, this fall. Mr. Drohn had been employed by Sheetz in Cranberry for the past six months. He attended Lyona Bible Church in Guys Mills where he was also a core group member of the college and career group "Primetime." He served on student council his senior year of high school. Mr. Drohn enjoyed sports, particularly basketball. He is survived by his father, Rodney WEIDNER of Titusville; and two brothers, Randy CORNELIUS and Dale SANDERS, both of Titusville. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville. Further visitation will take place from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the the Young Funeral Home, 127-137 W. Jefferson St., Butler, where funeral services will be held Wednesday following visitation. Interment will take place in West Sunbury Cemetery.

Lois A. Bennett, 89, of Malvern, Ohio, formerly of Oil City, died Sunday, Aug. 22, 1999, at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Don and Pamela Bennett, following a two-year illness. Born Nov. 20, 1909, in Kellettville, she was a daughter of James P. and Lois (McKENZIE) SMITH. She was a member of the Baptist Church of Franklin. Mrs. Bennett is survived by two sons and their wives, Don and Pamela Bennett of Malvern, Thomas and Patricia J. Bennett of Oil City, two sons, Joseph SHREFFLER of Seneca and Edward Shreffler of Florida; two daughters, Donna K. MARTIN and Barbara BRAUN, both of Oil City, Connie SHAFFER and Marian Avonelle ROBINSON, both of Florida; a sister, Erma EDWARDS of Oil City; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and five brothers. Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia HOLLENBAUGH; a son, Jack DEMPSEY; and two brothers. Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. The Deckman-Bartley Funeral Home in Malvernis in charge of arrangements.
