DeLoras June Snyder, 76, of President, died early Thursday morning Aug. 19, 1999. Born July 36, 1923, in Rouseville, she was the daughter of the late Nellie REYNOLDS. Mrs. Snyder was a graduate of Oil City Hight School. After high school, she worked at Oilwell Supply for a couple of years and then she worked for the Oil City Post Office, where she was the first female letter carrier during World War II. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City. On Oct. 16, 1948, in Waterford, she married Robert Snyder, who preceded her in death in 1984. They had lived in Oil City until 1977, when they moved ot President. She was a homemaker who enjoyed working with certamics and crafts. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are two daughters and their husbands and families, Barbara S. and Thomas ANDERSON of Florida and Brandi Anderson ROMBOLD of Meadville; and Beverly J. and Gary CONSTABLE, and Emily and Miles Constable of Punta Gorda, Fla. Also surviving are two sons and their families, William R. and Colleen Snyder, and Nathan and Jessica Snyder of Oil City RD 2 and Chad Snyder ot Texarkana, Texas; and Richard L. and Patricia Snyder, and Julia and Reed Snyder of Oil City RD 2. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Osenider Funeral Home in Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday from the funeral home with the Rev. William Miles, interim pastor of Second Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment will be in the Grove Hill Cemetery in Oil City. Memorial donations can be made to Second Presbyterian Church in Oil City, or to a charity of one's choice.
Richard C. Stack, 72, of Seven Hills, Ohio, a former Oil City resident, died at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999 at the home of his brother, John Stack of Plumer RD 1, following an extended illness. Born Dec. 23, 1926, in Oil City, he was the son of the late William and Elizabeth COOGAN Stack. He was a 1944 graduate of St. Joseph High School. Mrs. Stack was a veteran of the United States Navy Air Corps during World War II. Following his discharge from the service, he was employed by the Pennsylvania Electric Co. He then attended Tri State College in Angola, Ind., where he earned a degree in engineering. He had been employed by several construction companies in the Cleveland area. On March 23, 1952, Mr. Stack married the former Mary Jane RINELLA of Oil City in St. Joseph Church. She preceded him in death July 10, 1978. He was a member of the Oil City Knights of Columbus Council No. 385. While residing in Ohio, he was a devout member of St. Columbkille Church in Parma, Ohio. Mrs. Stack is survived by two brothers, John D. Stack of Oil City RD 1 and Thomas A. Stack of Seven Hills; a sister, Elizabeth A. Stack of Oil City; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, William F. Stack; and a sister, Mary K. WEAVER. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Reinsel Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Saturday in St. Joseph Church. Msgr. Robert J. Smith JCL, the vicar general of the Erie Diocese and cousin of the deceased, will preside. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church Development Fund.
Jeffrey A. Beveridge, 37, of Willows, Calif., formerly of Clarion, died Sunday, July 25, 1999, at Glenn Medical Center of Willows. Born Jan. 13, 1962, in Clarion, he was a son of Daniel and Connie Beveridge of Glendale, Ariz. He attended Clarion-Limestone Elementary School before moving with his family to Arizona. Mr. Beveridge was a civil engineer for 18 years for the Bureau of Reclamation. In addition to his wife, Diane Beveridge of Willows, he is survived by a daughter, Becky Beveridge of Glendale; two stop-sons, Chris JOHNSON of Willows and Steve ROTHHACKER of Atlanta; his parents; two brothers, Doug Beveridge of San Diego, Calif., and John Beveridge of Glendale; paternal grandmother, Helen Beveridge of Clarion RD 1; and many aunts, uncles and cousins in the Clarion area. Mr. Beveridge was preceded in death by a brother, Terry; his maternal grandparents, Reno and Evelyn YOUNG; and his paternal grandfather, Charles Beveridge. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 29, at F.D. Sweet & Son Mortuary in Willows. Private interment was held at a later date.
Wanda F. Howard, 92, of New Bethlehem RD 2, died Thursday, Aug. 19, 1999, at the Pennsylvania Memorial Home in Brookville. She was born June 9, 1907, in Silvercreek, N.Y. Mrs. Howard was married to Dollard J. (D.J.) Howard and he preceded her in death on Nov. 10, 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of the New Bethlehem United Methodist Chuch. She enjoyed golfing, reading and artwork and was also a member of the New Bethlehem Civic Club. Mrs. Howard is survived by four sons, Steven P. Howard of New Bethlehem, William A. Howard of Myrtle Beach, Sidney Howard of Coatesville and John Howard of Nashville, Tenn.; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Satuday at the Carlson Funeral Home in Brockway. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home with the Rev. Walter Hehman and the Rev. George Cook officiating. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery, Stockton, N.Y. Memorials can be made to a charity of one's choice.
Irma C. Amos, 79, of 25 Lake Street, Stoneboro, died at 2:05 a.m. Thursday Aug. 19, 1999, in UPMC Greenville after an extended illness.
