Helen E. Lynam, 88, formerly of 312 Bissell Aven., Oil City, died at 3:45 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home. Born Aug. 3, 1911, in Oil City, she was the daughter of John and Ella MULLIGAN MULDOON. Mrs. Lynam attended the Oil City schools. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. Mrs. Lynam had been a volumteer cafeteria worker in her earlier years. She was a homemaker and was an avid bingo player and baker, and enjoyed attending church services. Mrs. Lynam was married in St. Stephen Church to Francis Lynam, who died in 1978. Surviving are one daughter, Mary Jane Lynam of Oil City; one grandson, Christopher Lynam of Oil City; one brother, William Muldoon of Oil City; and one nicece and two nephews, whom she helped raise, Joan MAKOWSKI of Oil City, William EISENMAN of Indiana, Pa., and John MARTIN of Michigan. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Lynam was preceded in death by two brothers, Art Muldoon and an infant; and three sisters, Geraldine Eisenman, Ann Martin and Mae Muldoon. The Reinsel Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. There will be no viewing or visitation. Private funeral services will be help at the convenience of the family with the Rev. Mark J. Mastrian presiding. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Venango-Forest Unit of the American Cancer Society, 10 W. Front St., Oil City, Pa. 16301.

Robert W. Davidson, 75, of Jamisonville Road, Butler, formerly of New Bethlehem, died Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, at his home following an illness. Born Jan. 25, 1924, in New Bethlehem, he was a son of James H. and Helen E. DOVERSPIKE Davidson. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Medical Corps. Mr. Davidson was employed in his early years by the Leader-Vindicator in New Bethlehem and worked at various large newspapers throughout the country, including the Washington Post as a composer until his retirement. Surviving are a brother, Jack J. Davidson of New Bethlehem; two sons, Jeffrey Davidson and Wade Davidson, both of South Carolina; and a friend, Phyllis Syckst of Butler. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, James Davidson. A memorial service will be held at a later date. The Reuper Funeral Home in New Bethlehem is in charge of arrangements.

Richard P. "Dick" Barger, 67, of Rimersburg RD 1, died at 8:38 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, in Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Sligo RD 1, where he had resided for the past year and a half. Born Nov. 24, 1931, in Dutch Hill, Clarion County, he was a son of Lawson and Lois CONNER Barger. He served as a staff sergeant with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Barger worked for Heeter Lumber Co. for 33 years and retired in 1993 as manager of The Rimersburg Store. He had served for many years as a constable in Toby Township, Clarion County, and also worked for many years as a security guard at various activities at Union High School and Allegheny-Clarion Valley Hight School. Mr. Barger was a member of the United Methodist Church of Rimersburg, the Rimersburg Lions Club, the Rimersburg VFW Post No. 7132 and the Shearer-Shick American Legion Post of Rimersburg. He also was a member of the Rimersburg Chamber of Commerce which presented him in 1992 with the chamber's Community Service Award. Mr. Barger was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was married Jan. 19, 1951, to the former Dolores BARR, who survives. Also surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Dennis (Paula) KEISTER of Rimersburg RD 1, Mrs. Randy (Calla) CARMICHAEL of Rimersburg, Mrs. Gary (Darla) HENRY of Knox and Mrs. Chad (Oleva) SLAUGENHOUPT of Cabot; two sons, Richard P. Barger Jr. and Thomas C. Barger and his wife, Cindy, all of Rimersburg RD 3; and 12 grandchildren. He also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Ed (Ailene) MILLIREN of Rimersburg; and one brother, William A. Barger of Rimersburg RD 1. He was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson. The family will receive riends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday in the Kline Funeral Home, J. Robert Varner, director, in Rimersburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the United Methodist Church of Rimersburg with the Rev. James Eaton, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. The family suggest memorial donations be made to the Southern Clarion County Volunteer Ambulance Service, RD 1, Rimersburg, Pa. 16248, or to Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center Auxiliary, RD 1, Sligo, Pa. 16255.

James Glenn Woolley Jr., 66, of 1114 Pennsylvania Ave., Huntingdon, Smithfield Township, formerly of Parker, died unexpectedly at 8:25 p.m. Tuesday, Aug 17, 1999, at his residence. Mr. Woolley moved to the McConnellstown area in 1964 and then to Aitch in 1966. He had lived at his Smithfield Township home since 1972. Born June 19, 1933, in Parker, he was a son of James Glenn Woolley Sr. and Lillian Alma SLAUGHENHOPP Woolley. He was a 1949 graduate of Parker Hight School and received a bachelor of arts degree in sociology from Saint Vincent College, Latrobe. Mr. Woolley served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired in 1991 from the State Correctional Institution at Huntingdon after 28 years as correctional counselor. Mr. Woolley served for the past three years on the Republican Committee. He was married in Pittsburgh Aug. 23, 1954, to Helen POULOS, who survives. Also surviving are his mother, Lillian Alma Woolley of Parker; two sons, Neil T. Woolley of Blairs Mills and Mark A. Woolley of Waymart; two daughters, Mrs. Michael (Elizabeth E.) CELLINI of Levittown and Barbara A. Woolley of Tuckertown, N.J.; and two grandchildren. He also is survived by a sister, Eunice Marie AARON of Clarion. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Victor Isaiah Celline, on Sept. 17, 1997. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Cutright-Speck Funeral Home, Ridge Road and Juniata Avenue, Huntingdon. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home. Helen Maxine Moury, 71, of Polk RD 2, died at 2:45 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 1999, in West Penn Hospital, Pittsburgh.

Joseph Mittelmeier Jr., 71, of 1850 Mercer Road, Jackson Center, brother of Mrs. Norman F. (Anna) HARRY of Seneca, died at 7:56 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, 1999, in United Community Hospital, Grove City, after an extended illness.
