Rober Paul Allison, 66, of Knox, died at 7:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, at his residence following a short illness. Born Sep. 17, 1932, in Limestone, he was a son of Paul and Cecelia KINDEL Allison. Mr. Allison was a graduate of Clarion-Limestone Hight School. He retired in 1986 from Owens-Illinois Glass in Clarion where he worked for 36 years in the forming department. Mr. Allison was a member of both the Brookville and Clarion Eagles clubs. He enjoyed NASCAR racing. Mr. Allison was married Nov. 38, 2989, to Janet BOUCH BELL, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters and their husbands, Crystal and Kal DANKOVICH of Slippery Rock and Paula and Jason McGREGOR of Sligo; three sons, Randy Allison of Dunnellon, Fla., Barry Allison of Clarion and Mark Allison of New Bethlehem; a daughter-in-law, Julie Allison of Mayport; two stepsons and their wives, Randy and Beverly Bell of Knox, and Jeff and Kim Bell of Jemison, Ala.; a stepdaughter and her husband, Tonia and David YOCKEY of Kittanning; 10 grandchildren; and four stepgrandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Allison was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Allison. Visitation and funeral services will be private and will be held at the convenience of the family. John W. Elliott Sr., 79, of Curllsville, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, in Clarview Nursing & Rehabilitation Center at Sligo RD 1. Born May 18, 1920, in Licking Township, Clarion County, he was a son of Ralph and Florence MALES Elliott. In his earlier years, Mr. Elliott was a heavy equipment operator for various coal companies in the surrounding area. He retired after many years as owner-operator of Elliott's Grocery Store in Curllsville. Mr. Eliott was a member of Grace Community Church of Curllsville. He was an antique automobile enthusiast and enjoyed restoring old cars. Mr. Elliott first was married June 25, 1941, to the former Geraldine McCANNA, who died in 1959. He then was married Oct. 11, 1959, to Martha SHOOK BEST, who survives. Also surviving are two sons and their wives. John Elliott Jr. and June Elliott of Curllsville and Dennis and Cathy Elliott of New Bethlehem; a daughter-in-law, Linda Elliott of Shippenville; three stepdaughters, Helen BEAFIELD of Curllsville, Connie MANNKE of Houston, Texas, and Celia RAVKIND of Woodlands, Texas; two stepsons, David Best of Concord, N.H., and James Best of Sewickley; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. He also is survived by four sisters, Mrs. Geraldine SILVIS of West Middlesex, Mrs. Eileen VARNER of Butler, Mrs. Russell (Carolyn) HEETER of Sligo and Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) SMITH of Mayport; and one brother, Albert Elliott of Clarion. In addition to his parents and first wife, Mr. Elliott was preceded in death by a son Ralph Elliott; and one grandson, John Elliott III. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday in the Varner Funeral Home, Sligo. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in Grace Community Church of Curllsville with lay leader, Dan George, officiating. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. William H. Motter, 66, of Marienville, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, in Brookville Hospital after a sudden illness. Born April 12, 1933, in Clarington, he was a son of Frank and Lucille WHITEHILL Motter. He was a graduate of Sigel High School. Mr. Motter served from 1955 to 1959 in the Korean Conflict. He worked as a glass machine operator for 32 years at Glass Container Corp., of Marienville. He also woked 10 years at Abraxas Foundation in Marienville and was the present caretaker at the North Forest Cemetery. Mr. Motter was a member of the Marienville United Methodist Church and Acacia Masonic Lodge No. 633 of Marienville. He attended the Marienville Presbyterian Church. Mr. Motter was married June 15, 1962, to Jill HILYER, who survives. Also surviving are four children, Jeffery Motter and his wife, Bonnie, Tina SONGER and her husband, Shannon, and Heidi Motter, all of Marienville, and Robert JOHNSON of Kane; and two grandchildren, Katie Motter and Hali Songer. He also is survived by two sisters, Loleta HIMES and her husband, Bob, of Brookville and Mildred RANKUS of Angola, N.Y.; and a brother and his wife, Clair and Carolyn Motter of Clarington. In addition to his parents, Mr. Motter was preceded in death by a sister, Virginia HOWARD; and two brothers, Walter Motter and Leroy Motter. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 0 p.m. today in the Ronald McDonald Funeral Home, Marienville. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, in the funeral home with the Rev. Melvin Hedegor, retired Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will follow in North Forest Cemetery. The family suggest memorials be mad to the First Presbyterian Church of Marienville.
Ralph R. Hoffman, 88, of Prividence Care Center, Sandusky, Ohio, a former Clintonville resident and brother of Vincent A. Hoffman of Franklin, died Saturday evening, Aug. 14, 1999, at his residence after a brief illness.
Clifton Eugene Matthews, 52, of 779 N. Main St., Meadville, formerly of Franklin, died Monday, Aug. 16, 1999, in Meadville Medical Center.
Mary Ann Solomon, 79, of 1220 Chestnut St., Franklin, died at 1:40 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 15, 1999, in the Oil City Presbyterian Home.
