residence.
Herbert Dortort of Philadelphia, father of a Clarion resident, died Thursday,
Aug. 5, 1999 In addition to his wife, Ann PATISH Dortort, he is survived by a
son and his wife, Dr. Arthur Jeffery and Jacklyn Dortort of Clarion; a daughter,
Sharon Beth Dortort of Ventnor, N.J.; two grandchildren, Eli Benjamin and Alicia
Jayne; and a sister, Rosalind WILLIS of Wynnewood. Shiva will be observed at Mr.
Dortort's residence in Philadelphia. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m.

Jerene Whitehill Rial Miska, 43, of 800 Park Ave., Ferrell, formerly of
Franklin, died at 11:31 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, in Sharon Regional
Hospital.
Jessie L. Beebe, 86, of West Goshen Township, formerly of Rocky Grove, died
Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Chester County Hospital.
Lois E. Hawk, 56, of Sharon, died at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 5, 1999, at the Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis. Mrs. Hawk became ill while visiting in Missouri and died unexpectedly of natural causes. Born in Rimersburg on Nov. 5, 1942, she was a daughter of the late Donald and Lucinda E. COLWELL SUMMERVILLE. Mrs. Hawk attended First Methodist Church in Charleston. She was employed at Mercer Junior-Senior High School for a number of years. Mrs. Hawk enjoyed cooking, baking, gardening and camping with her husband following his retirement. She was married Dec. 8, 1962, to Roland L. Hawk in Rimersburg, and he survives. In addition to her husband, Mrs. Hawk is survived by two sons, Roland L. Hawk Jr. and his wife, Kirsti, of Port Edwards, Wis., and Rodney J. Hawk and his wife, Brenda, of Manheim, Germany; one daughter, Mrs. Michael (Rhonda Jane) REESE of Greenville; and three grandchildren, Merrick and Morgan GANDEE of Greenville and Nathan Hawk of Manheim, Germany. Also surviving are three brother, Darl Summerville of New Brighton, Milo Summerville of Coos Bay, Ore., and Donald Summerville Jr. of Rimersburg; three sister, Mrs. Stephen O. (Alice) STITT of Rimersburg RD 2, Mrs. Thomas (Phyllis) HETRICK of Erie and Ellan NEWMAN of Marion, Ohio; and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimbersburg. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. James M. Eaton, pastor of First Methodist Church in Rimersburg, officiating. Interment will follow in Rimersburg Cemetery. The family suggest memoial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
Merle L. Stover, 83, of Seneca RD 1, died Friday, Aug. 6, 1999, at his residence following an extended illness. Bon Feb. 7, 1916, in Rockland, he was a son of Charles L. and Edna M. DETRIE Stover. On June 1, 1944, he married Anna A. McCAULEY, and she survives. He lived most of his life in the Oil City area and graduated from Oil City High School in 1934. Mr. Stover was employed as a mill operator at Jones and Laughlin Steel Corp. for 37 years, retiring in June 1978. He was a member of the Fertigs Senior Center and the A.M. Walkers of Cranberry Mall. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, berry picking and hunting. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Albert D. Stover and his wife, Joyce, of Seneca, and Lawrence C. Stover and his friend, Debbie Moore, also of Seneca; two daughters and their husbands, Carolyn M. and Gerald SEEGERS of Keithville, La., and Rhea D. and Harvey HALE, also of Keithville; and four grandchildren, Barbara HARDIN of Keithville, James A. Stover of Dalton, Ga., Christine M. LYCANS of Enid, Okla., and Kelly L. MILLER of Seneca. He is also survived by two brothers, Otis W. Stover of Seneca and Shurl C. Stover of Oil City; 10 step-grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several step great-grandchildren. Mr. Stover was preceded in death by two grandsons, Ronald K. Stover and John M. Stover; one brother, Clyde Stover; and two sisters, Lucille MAHOOD and Martha BURRIS. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Osenider Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Sweet of Heckathorn United Methodist Church officiating. Richard N. Kenemuth, 67, of 26 West Ave., died at 9:25 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Northwest Medical Center in Oil City. Born June 28, 1932, he was a son of Richard W. and Dorothy V. KAPP Kenemuth. On April 5, 1953, he married Eleanore C. BEST, and she survives. He resided in the Oil City area for 30 years, coming here from the Knox area. Mr. Kenemuth worked in the supply division of National Fuel for 42 years, retiring in 1992. He was also self-employed as a heating and air conditioning contractor, was a member of P.I.P.P. oil producers, and was a partner for a number of years in the operation of the Frosty Flavor in Cranberry. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where he was a trustee and a former Sunday School teacher. He had his private pilot's license and also enjoyed hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son and his wife, Michael R. and Gretchen Kenemuth of Charleston, S.C.; a daughter and her husband, Mrs. Russell (Janet) NUTT of Charleston; two sisters, Mrs. Eileen NORTHRUP of Vienna, Ohio, and Mrs. Richard (JoAnn) BERKHOUSE of Bristolville, Ohio; and one brother, David L. Kenemuth and his wife Debby, of Fern. Mr. Kennemuth is also survived by four grandchildren, Kristin and Lauren Kenemuth and Susie and Christopher Nutt, all of Charleston. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Corinne KEELY in 1970 and Joyce KAY in 1942. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the Osenide Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. Jack Friggle of Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery in Knox. Wilbur H. Guynn, 91, of 10 Pinoak Drive, Oil City, died at 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 5, 1999, at Sugar Creek Station following an extended illness. Born May 31, 1908, in Smithton, Westmoreland County, he was a son of J. Wilbur and Bertha Guynn. Mr. Guynn was a farmer for most of his life. He also worked for nine years as an inspector for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. He was of the Protestant faith. On March 28, 1964, he married Eva L. GILMORE FRENCH in Franklin, and she survives. He is also survived by several step-children, John and Rose French of Cambridge Springs, Ronald and Rose French of Seneca, James and Susan French of Chicago and Mrs. William (Carolyn) French of Charlotte, N.C.; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Allen WILLIMSON, whom he had raised from the age of 9; a stepson, William French; and a brother, Forrest Guynn. There will be no calling hours. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. today at the Reinsel Funeral Home with the Rev. W. Dale Rhome, visitation pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiating.
