E. Lois Taylor, 88, of Sugar Creek Station, formerly of John Diamond Road, Franklin RD 2, died at 12:08 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, in Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Jan. 2, 1911, in Jamestown, N.Y., she was a daughter of Fred and Grace MERZ BROWN. She was a graduate of Youngsville High School and Jamestown Business College. Mrs. Taylor was married Aug. 26, 1933, to Clyde A. Taylor, who died April 2, 1970. She was affiliated with her husband in Taylor Electric Appliance Store in Oil City from 1933 to 1961 and then worked at Sears until her retirement. Mrs. Taylor was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church for many years and had served as church treasurer as well as treasurer of the Ladies Aid Society. She enjoyed playing cards and baking pies and was devoted to her grandchildren. Surviving are a son, John A. "Jack" Taylor Sr. of Wilmington, N.C.; a daughter, Carol A. BAKER of John Diamond Road, Franklin; seven grandchildren, John A. Taylor Jr. of Atlanta, Ga., Debra Taylor HOBBS of Hampstead, N.C., Vicki Taylor SHAW of Reno, Nev., Jami Morrison HEPLER of Oleopolis, Juli Morrison HARTZELLl, Jodi Morrison WEBSTER and James Taylor MORRISON of John Diamond Road; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also is survived by one brother, Freeman Brown of Oregon; and two sisters, Eunice WILLETT and Marian BENNINK of Florida. She was preceded in death by two brother, Elsworth Brown of Olean, N.Y., and Robert Brown of Warren, Pa. Friends may call from 1:30 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Osenider Funeral Home. Funeral services for the family will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. William Schreiber, pastor of Christ Lutheran Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. The family suggests memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Northwest Pennsylvania, 110 W. 10th St., Suite 212, Erie, Pa. 16501, or to an organization of one's choice.

William Andrew McNaughton, 79, of Rimersburg RD 2, Madison Township, Clarion County, died at 5:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, at his home following a two-year illness. Born March 26, 1920, in Pinoak, Madison Township, Clarion County, he was a son of William A. and Alice HILE McNaughton. He served in the U.S. Army Air Force with the 71st Fighter Squadron, with duty in Europe. Mr. McNaughton retired from Riphco in Rimersburg where he was employed as a plumber and electrician. He was a member of St. Richard Roman Catholic Church in Rimersburg. Mr. McNaughton was married in Shippenville April 11, 1949, to the former Dorothy L. HEPLER, who survives. Also surviving are eight sons, Donald McNaughton and his wife, Darlene, and Jeffrey McNaughton and his wife, Jodie, all of Brookville, Gary McNaughton of Erie, Mark McNaughton of East Brady RD 1, Douglas McNaughton and his wife, Marie, of Parker, David McNaughton of Pittsburgh, Charles McNaughton and his wife, Holly, of Rimersburg and Brian McNaughton of Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.; six daughters, Mrs. Richard (Sharon) Wittenburg of Erie, Mrs. Samuel (Catherine) SHELTON of Crawfordsville, Ind., Mrs. David (Connie) WOLFE, of Clarion RD 1, Mrs. Shawn (Linda) MERTZ of Pittsburgh, Amy DIVENS of Sligo and Mrs. Michael (Melissa) MORTIMER of Rimersburg RD 1; 20 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He also is survived by three brother, Richard McNaughton of Rimersburg RD 2, Robert McNaughton of Erie and Paul McNaughton of Oil City; one sister, Mrs. Leo (Jean) RETTIG of Rimersburg RD 2; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. McNaughton was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward McNaughton and Fred McNaughton. The Richard D. Hillis Funeral Home in Rimersburg is in charge of arrangements. Visitation will be private. A public Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday in St. Richard Roman Catholic Church in Rimersburg with the Rev. William Kuba as the presider. Gladys Stephens Murrell, formerly of Covington, Ky., mother of Mrs. John (Shirley) WARD of Oil City and grandmother of Julie Ward of Oil City and Jay Ward of Erie, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, in Hamilton, Ohio. ELLWOOD McELHANEY Ellwood McElhaney, 85, of Franklin RD 3, a machine repairman at CPT for 34 years, died Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, at his residence.

Thelma M. Klingler, 78, of Knox, died at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 27, 1999, in the Clarion Hospital. Born Dec. 15, 1920, in Knox, she was a daughter of J.D. Leroy "Roy" and Gladys E. LONG SNYDER. Mrs. Klingler was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Knox, the Monroe Community Club and the Wentlings Corners Senior Citizens. She was a homemaker and an avid reader, and enjoyed watching birds and doing crossword puzzles. Mrs. Klingler was married July 7, 1958, to H. O. "Oley" Klingler, who died March 28, 1977. Surviving is a daughter, Carole BEST of Knox, with whom she resided. She also is survived by a brother, Chalmer Snyder of Strattanville; and a sister, Vivian FLETCHER of Garland, Pa. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Klinger was preceded in death by a sister, Willa Fay Snyder, and a brother, Standish Snyder. The David C. McEntire Funeral Home in Knox is in charge of arrangements. A graveside memorial service will be held at 6 p.m. Friday in St. Paul Lutheran Cemetery at Knox. Jeffrey A. Clements, 35, of Port Royal, S.C., formerly of Knox, died Sunday, Aug 1, 1999, at his residnce. Born June 14, 1964, in Oil City, he was a son of Howard and Georgia FAIR Clements. He was a graduate of Keystone High School, Knox, and the Auto Mechanics Shop at Clarion County Careet Center. Mr. Clements was self-employed as an auto mechanic. Before moving to South Carolina in 1984, he attended Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church at Crossroad, Knox RD 1. Mr. Clements enjoyed working on cars, hunting, fishing and his dog, "Lonesome." Surviving, in addition to his parents of Knox RD 1, are a sister and her husband, Laura and Boyd CLEVENGER of West Middlesex; his maternal grandmother, Naomi Fair of Knox RD 1; four nephews, Jerrod, Wesley, Clayton and Logan Clevenger, all of West Middlesex; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Mr. Clements was preceded in dealth by his paternal grandparents, Russell and Gladys BERLIN Clements; and his maternal grandfather, Darl Fair. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the David C. McEntire Funeral Home, Knox. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home with the Rev. Kenneth Shaffer, interim pastor of Bethany Evangelical Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Starr Cemetery, Knox RD 1. Evelyn S. Neiswonger, 83, of Fairmount City, died at 5:07 p.m. Monday, Aug. 2, 1999, in Brookville Hospital. Born Dec. 22, 1915, in Fairmount City, Clarion County, she was a daughter of James B. and Bertha Elizabeth BROWN DWYER. Mrs. Neiswonger was a member of the Fairmount City United Methodist Church. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Neiswonger was married Oct 20, 1934, to Lloyd E. Neiswonger, who died March 1, 1997. Surviving are three sons, Lloyd E. Neiswonger of New Bethlehem RD 3, Melvin D. Neiswonger of Fairmount City RD 1 and Glenn E. Neiswonger of New Bethlehem; two daughters, Mrs. Charles (Grace E.) MILLER of new Bethlehem RD 3 and Mrs. Brad (Shirley D.) SMITH of Mayport RD 1; 13 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one sister, Mrs. Grace DEHNER of Brookville. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Neiswonger was preceded in death by two brother, Clarence B. Dwyer and James B. Dwyer; and four sisters, Bessie SHERF, Alverta EVANS, Floda Dwyer and Ernestine Dwyer. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday in the Charles D. Alcorn Funeral Home, Hawthorn. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home with the Rev. David Pearce, pastor of the Fairmount City United Methodist Church, officiating.
