Mary V. Monrean Stephens, 75, of Knox, died at 6:45 a.m. Sunday, Aug. 1, 1999, in St. Francis Hospital, Pittsburgh, following complications form heart bypass surgery. Born June 28, 1925, in Buckhorn, she was a daughter of Ira and Elva GOUGHLER WATKINS. Mrs. Stephens had woked from 1969 to 1973 at Knox Glass. She was a member of the Clarion Evangelical Congregational Church, the Ladies Auxiliary of the Clarion VFW and the Wentlings Corners Senior Citizens. Mrs. Stephens was a volunteer at Clarion Hospital. She enjoyed card playing, bingo, gardening, cooking and attended her grandchildren's activities. Mrs. Stephens first was married Aug. 22, 1942, to Ralph R. MONREAN, who died Oct. 14, 1968. She then was married Jan. 15, 1973, to Albert J.S. WATTS, who died in 1980. Surviving are five daughters and their husbands, Nellie Hartzell WEETER and Donald Weeter, Donna and Clair CLEMENTS and Cynthia and Tom BYERS, all of Knox RD 1, Sarah and William CHILES of Garden City, Mo., and Susan and Layne GIERING of Shippenville; a son and daughter-in-law John R. and Carol Monrean of Knox RD 1; 15 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren. She also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Nick (Ruth) REPOFF of Limestone; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husbands, Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by a sister, Evelyn KIRKWOOD; and two brothers, Bert Watkins and Melvin Watkins. The family will receive friends from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grance Evangelical Congregational Church at Ninevah. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with the Rev. Maurice Friedlund officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mark Cemetery, Kossuth. The David C. McEntire Funeral Home, Knox, is in charge of arrangements. Paul F. Burkhardt, 71, of Lucinda RR 1, died Saturday, July 31, 1999, at his residence. Born July 23, 1928, in Knox Township, Clarion County, he was a son of Gustav and Lottie ZERBE Burkhardt. Mr. Burkhardt was a pipeline construction worker. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church of Clarion. Mr. Burkhardt was married May 8, 1954, to Iva WILSON, who survives. Also suriving are three sons, Ronald Burkhardt of Leeper and Rodney Burkhardt and Fred Burkhardt, both of Lucinda; one daughter, Ms. Debbie Burkhardt of Lucinda; and five grandsons, James, Kevin, Bryan, Casey and Corey Burkhardt. He also is survived by a sister, Dorothy VROBEL of Lucinda. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burkhardt was preceded in death by one son, James Burkhardt. The Robert V. Burns Funeral Home in Clarion is in charge of arrangements. There will be no public visitation. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Grance Luthern Church, Clarion, with Rev. Harold O. Jacobson, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Clarion Cemetery. Memorials may be mad to the Clarion-Forest VNA Hospice.

Daniels J. Moltz Sr., 63, of 119 E. Sixth St., died early Saturday, July 31, 1999, in the Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh, after a brief illness. Born Sept. 28, 1935, in Oil City, he was a son of John J. and Maie A. WEBSTER Moltz. Mr. Moltz lived his entire life in the Oil City area. He was a 1953 graduate of Oil City High School. Mr. Moltz served in the U.S. Army in the Korean Conflict. He worked for 34 years as a machine operator at Continental Can Co., retiring in December 1997. Mr. Moltz was a member of St. Stephen Church. He was married June 1, 1963, to Angela J. CANGEMI, who survives. Also surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Randy (Jane) PARRETT of Marienville and Mrs. David (Marianne) WILLIAMS of Saegertown; a son and his wife, Daniel J. Moltz J. and Jackie of Oil City; and seven grandchildren, Morgan Parrett of Marienville, Tanner and Taylor Moltz of Oil City and Ronald, Christopher, Denise and Landon Williams of Saegertown. He also is survived by one sister, Mrs. Jack (Sara) SCALESE of Alton, Ill.; one brother, James L. Moltz of Oil City RD 2; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Moltz was preceded in death by two brothers, John J. Moltz and Frank J. Moltz; and one sister, Mary A. Moltz. Mark E. Voit, 42, of 129 River St., was found dead in the wreckage of his vehicle Friday afternoon, July 30, 1999, along Glenview Avenue. Born June 27, 1957, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Emery E. and Mary A. McGINNIS Voit. He was employed as a produce clerk at BiLo in Titusville. He was a member of the U.C.C.W. Local 23. Mr. Voit also was a member of the Oil City YMCA and the International Powerlifting Association. His best lifts were the 710-pound squat, 530-pound bench press and 660-pound deadlift. He competed in more than 100 powerlifting meets, taking first or second place, and he was named outstanding lifter in many of the meets. Mr. Voit currently ranked in the American Drug Free Masters Top 20 list of 275-pound bench pressers. He currently was training for the National Durg Free Bench Press Championships to be held in September. He also enjoyed competing in the sport of arm wrestling, always placing in the top three at various state level meets. Mr. Voit was married in Our Lady Help of Christians Church May 14, 1977, to the former Deborah A. WINGER, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Carrie A. Voit of Oil City and Staci E. Voit and Brittney J. Voit, both at home. He also is survived by two brothers, Tom Voit of Charlottesville, Va., and David R. Voit and his wife, Cathy, of Oil City; four sisters, Cathy A. Voit of Wheaton, Ill., Mrs. Paul (Ginny) FRIDLEY of Oil City, Susie WATKINS of Pittsburgh and Mrs. William (Carol J.) DEETS of Dempseytown; and several nieces and nephews. Alice L. Kuhns, 85, of 10 Tayoor St., Franklin, died at 9:15 p.m. Friday, July 30, 1999, in the Northwest Medical Center at Franklin. Born Feb. 18, 1914, in Cranberry, she was a daughter of John W. and Florence E. LUSHER BELL. Mrs. Kuhns was self-employed as a domestic worker, doing house cleaning for several families in the Franklin area. She attended the Oak Hill United Methodist Church. Mrs. Kuhns was a member of the Rocky Grove Fire Depatment Ladies Auxiliay and the Rockland Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and watching television. Mrs. Kuhns was married July 6, 1931, to Benjamin H. Kuhns, who died in February 1972. Surviving are one son, John C. Kuhns of Jackson Center; one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Pauline) ALLAMAN of Shippenville; three grandchildren, Mrs. Kevin (Sharton) RICKERT of New Galilee and Mrs. Joe (Karen) SPENCE and Donald Kuhns, both of Grove City; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She also is survived by three sister, Mrs. Vern (Ruth) FISCHER and Mrs. Dorrie MEEHAN, both of Seneca, and Mrs. Dale (Lottie) STORMER of Warren, Ohio. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Kuhns was preceded in death by a son, Donnie Kuhns; six sisters, Leona RUSSELL, Edna HANIWALT, Margaret RUSSELL, Dorothy SEYLER, Agnes MEEHAN and Inez WEBBER; and two brothers, Norman Bell and John Bell. Hulda M. "Hud" Hinderliter, 71, of Hawthorn, died at 11:33 p.m. Friday, July 30, 1999, in Clarion Hospital. Born March 25, 1928, in Deanville, Madison Township, Armstrong County, she was a daughter of Charles C. and Dora P. RHOADES. Mrs. Hinderliter was a member of the Oakdale Church of the Brethern at Distant and the Hawthrorn Fire Department Auxiliary. She was a homemaker. Mrs. Hinderliter was married Oct. 25, 1945, to Leo Hinderliter, who survives. Also Surviving are three sons, Donald L. Hinderliter and his wife, Sandra, and Dennis "Sarge" Hinderliter, all of Hawthon, and Alan J. Hinderliter and his wife, Jackie, of Fairmount City RD 1; one daughter, Mrs. Larry (Patricia) BODDORF of Hawthorn; seven grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter. She also is survived by two sisters, Ethel SLEE and Mabel ADAMS, both of Broadwood Towers, New Bethlehem; and two brothers, H. Donal TRUITT of New Millport and Ralph H. TRUITT of New Bethlehem RD 2. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Hinderliter was preceded in death by seven brothers, Verde, Torrence, Edgar, Glenn, Delbert, Ernie and Hubert TRUITT. Eleanor H. "Ellie" Confer Emenhizer, 69, of Oil City RD 2, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, July 30, 1999, at her residence. Born Oct. 29, 1929, in Oil City, she was a daughter of Boston L. and Lula CHAMBERS Confer. Mrs. Emenhizer was employed by IGA Foodline, General Telephone Co. and Shop-N-Save. She enjoyed crafts, playing cards, cooking several course holiday meals for family and friends, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Emenhizer was married July 26, 1953, to Elmer C. Emenhizer, who died Jan. 27, 1985. Surviving are a daughter and her husband, Vanessa and Tom ROCKOVICH and their children, Timonthy, John and Bethany, all of Oil City. Also surviving are four sisters, Mrs. Marvin (Delores) GAYETTY of Franklin, Geraldine HALE of Oil City, Lucille AMON of Mercer and Mrs. Chet (Bertha) BLAUSER of Grove City; two brothers and their wives, Don and Ann Confer of Franklin and Lyle and Betty Confer of Titusville; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Emenhizer was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Confer; and a brother, Wade Confer. Jason Allen Aites, 22, of Rimersburg RD 1, died Friday evening, July 30, 1999, as the result of injuries sustained in a one car accident in Toby Township, Clarion County. Born April 29, 1977, in Clarion, he was a son of Junior L. and Jane M. SAYLOR Aites of Rimersburg RD 1. He was a 1996 granduate of Union School District where he was a lineman on the football team, wearing jersey No. 55. He then attended DeVRY Technical Institute in Columbus, Ohio, majoring in electronics, and was on the dean's list there. Mr. Aites currently was employed at Universal Forest Products in Parker. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy in Huey. Mr. Aites enjoyed camping, music and deer hunting. Surviving, in addition to his parents, are three brothers and their companions, Jeffrey L. Aites and Kimberly Daugherty of Bookville, Scott W. Aites and Mary Beth Thomas of Shippenville and Michael J. Aites and Polly Strohmeyer of Claion; two nieces, Brayanna Aites of Clarion and Natasha Aites of Brookville; and two nephews, Alex Aites of Clarion and Travis Aites of Brookville. He also is survived by his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Evely Aites of Rimbersburg RD 1; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, William Aites in 1980; his maternal grandfather, John Saylor in 1976; and his maternal grandmother, Clara Saylor in 1994. Queen Junita Miller Gilmore, 87, of Stoneboro RD 2, Mineral Township, Venango County, died Saturday morning, July 31, 1999, at her residence following a brief illness.
