SILVIS Dayton-Harry Maxwell SILVIS, 84, of Church Street, Dayton, where he had resided for the past 56 years, died at his residence at 6:37 a.m. Friday, December 6, 1985......Born August 12, 1901 in New Bethlehem, Clarion County, he was the son of the late Mert and Margaret CHANDLER SILVIS.....Married March 6, 1929 to the former Cora Irene RUPP, she survives.....Mr. SILVIS was a member of the Syria TEMPLE of Pittsburgh, the John W. JENKS Lodge 534 F&AM Punxsutawney, and the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite located in the Valley of Pittsburgh.....Retiring in 1972, he was a partner in Ford Motor Co. of Dayton for 10 years and also administrator of the Armsdale Hall for 15.5 years......In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Robert C. SILVIS of Dayton RD 2; one daughter, Judy A. SILVIS SMITH of Sunnyvale, Calif.; nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; one sister, Geraldine ARDERY of Sher-Bren Manor, Kittanning RD 1; one brother Manola SILVIS of New Bethlehem; and a number of nieces and nephews......Preceding him in death were his parents; one sister Joceel McMILLEN, and one brother, John SILVIS......Friends were received at the Frank O. Bly Funeral Home in Dayton, where a Masonic service was held at 8 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7, and a regular service at 2 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Dave SAYLOR officiating......Interment was a Jerusalem Lutheran Cemetery in Wayne Township, Armstrong County
