j051030@hotmail.com The News Herald Thursday June 4, 1970 MRS. AGNES B. PITTMAN, 79, of 319 Pinoak Drive, widow of Everett T. Pittman, died at 7:25 p.m. Wednesday June 3, 1970, in the Franklin Hospital. She had been admitted to the hospital May 11. Mrs. Pittman was born February 8, 1891 in Franklin, the daughter of Charles M. and Mary Gillingham Mong. She spent her entire life in Franklin and attended public schools in Rocky Grove. She was twice married. On September 9, 1914 she married Clarence Thurman Tarr, who died October 21, 1914. She then married Everett T. Pittman on November 14, 1918. He died June 14, 1958. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church; the Good Samaritan Sunday School Class and the Woman's Society of Christian Service. She is survived by two sons: Earl S. Pittman of Franklin and Paul E. Pittman of Yorktown Heights, NY; two daughters: Miss Ruth A Pittman of Franklin and Mrs. Robert F. (Doris) Krear of Sharon; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Pearl (Grace) Rice, Mrs. Edward (Ethel) Girt and Mrs. Fred (Dorothy) Plumer, all of Franklin, and Mrs. Weldon (Ruth) Dunkle of Girard, OH; and two brothers: Melvin M. Mong and Sibley J. Mong, both of Franklin. She was preceded in death by one son, Walter E. Pittman; two brothers: Harry and Benjamin Mong; and one sister, Mrs. Albert (Hazel) Coon. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m Friday in Huff Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday in the Huff Chapel with the Rev. Lloyd S. Sturtz, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in the Franklin Cemetery.
