NOTE: Mrs. Birt requests that any visitor who may be sent to inspect these
homes may be instructed not to mention that the children are from the
workhouse or have been there - but only to speak of them as from the
Knowlton Home. These children are with perhaps the exception of the oldest
one practically adoptions.
