ADDITIONAL INFORMATION FROM SHARON in NB
GUEST, Harry from Birmingham England to Halifax onboard the
S.S. Siberian 14th. May 1898.
Harry Guest later settled in York County where he lived with a family
named ROBISON. Harry was 5 as of July 1897 (file #1815)
Also, BLAKE, Florence Rose who came on the same ship at the same time and
lived with the ROBISON family. She went by Rose BLAKE and was 10 as of
3rd. April 1903. Rose's sister also came here to Canada at the same time
but I don't know where she went to live. She was BLAKE, Lillian Adelaise
age 12 as of 21st. Dec. 1903. Their Father was William Charles BLAKE -
the Mother was dead and the file shows that the children were illegimate.
They were sent to the Middlemore home 17th. Jan. 1903.
NOTES:
Harry Guest and Rose Blake had a daughter, Jean Evelyn, born 17 June 1912
but they never married. Harry enlisted in the military in 1915 and was
killed in action in 1916. Rose went to the US and trained to be a nurse
and finally married and settled in Nova Scotia. Jean Evelyn's daughter
has been reunited with the family in Nova Scotia. The info on Harry in
the military can be found on the National Archives site.....click on the
word "war" on the left side bar. He sometimes went by Henry and he is
buried in Belgium.
