S.S. LABRADOR APR. 9, 1898
S.S. Labrador Liverpool
Halifax April 9 1892
FROM: Brian Wolfe.
Reel C-4518 manifest #70
Here are the names of 22 boys in a Reverend Wallace party,
On the same ship was a group of 158 Barnardoes. The latter
did, but somehow the Wallaces did not get into the NAC database.
All males for Belleville.
BRANNEN, W. 17 CLEARDE, R. 16
COMPTON, W. S. 13 EBELLO, F. 11
EDDSEN, A. 16 EVANS, Charles 14
FAULKNER, James 13 FAY, P. 16
FRODSHAW, D. 16 GRIFFITHS, R. 18
HEUSTAFFE, J. 8 HOLMES, J. 14
HOWELL, G. 12 HURST, E. 20
JONES, L. 8? KEARNEY, W. 17
KENYON, W. 16 MORAN, James 14
NEWHALL, W. 12 PARRE, F. 10
SHUFFLEBOTTOM, R. 13 TRUISM, J. 16
Rev Wallace is on the saloon list, as is A B Owen. Of
interest is that the Barnardo party has 2 adults heading
its numbers:
Alfred GOWAN age 30, mariner
R S KING, 30, clerk.
The quality of the microfilm reproduction could hardly be better and the
handwriting, though a little small, is neat and regular; yet one still
comes up with names like Truism and Clearde,
