A party of two, brother and sister apparently, who came on the SS Circassian Quebec May 25 1887. RG 17 Docket 61591 1/2 The docket cover reads: IMMIGRATION Department of Agricultue General Correspondence Peterborough, Sept 23-26 1887. [From:] W.G. Annesley List of children brought out by Dr Barnardo in 1887. (Taken from fyle (sic) 61591) [pencilled:] (Cheques 14th Nov/89) One Item in this file is a foolscap page that reads: Per SS Circassian arrived at Quebec 25th May 1887. LETTEN, James 10 LETTEN, Jessie 9 [The above is what the Home sent to Ottawa. It is certified twice by the Quebec Immigration Agent. The second certification reads:] I hereby certify that the two children named in the above list arrived per SS "Circassian" May 25/87. L. Stafford I.Agt. Gov't Immigration Office Quebec Oct 10/87.

Reel C-4535 has as ship #17 the passenger manifest for the Circassian, Quebec and Montreal, May 25, 1887. On ticket #1571 are two children: James EDWARDS 7 (male column) Jessie EDWARDS 9 (female column) Written to the right of these names is: "With Mr Annesley for Dr Barnardo's House, Peterboro'"

Leading the names of the Saloon passengers on another page of this manifest are, on ticket #5713: Capt. Annesley Mrs. " Miss K. "
