Fire left destruction and loss again in this vicinity on Tuesday morning when the farm home of Mr. and Mrs. W. HEARN was totally destroyed. While we have not received complete details at the time of writing, we understand the fire broke out in the upstairs of the house some time after the elder children of the family had left for school, and it was not discovered until that portion of the house was roaring. The whole building was enveloped so quickly that practically nothing could be saved. All who arrived to assist turned their efforts to guarding the nearby stables and other buildings. Fortunately the wind was in a favorable direction. The family is being accommodated at the neighbors for the time being and much regret is expressed regarding the misfortune which has come upon them.
This is the second house that has fallen prey to the flames on the same site. Older residents here will remember the disastrous fire of the Humphrey family many years ago, in which many valuables were lost and which almost cost the life of one of the girls.

Quick action by the New Liskeard Fire Department confined a fire in the McKinley Block to the body shop of Connelly’s garage, where a Saturday morning blaze caused an estimated $2,000 damage.
Tenants in the second floor apartments of the frame building were warned to evacuate the building, but the fire was soon under control, and they were permitted to return.
Owners of the Western Tire and Auto Supply store which occupies the front of the building, carried some items of stock to the street when the fire was at its height, but the sore was untouched by the fire or water.
