The Athletic Club here and other residents wish to extend their deep sympathy to the parents of the late Art Hayes, in their sad loss. Art was a general favourite in this community and his death will be felt keenly by the many friends here.
Although his home was in Charlton, he had pitched for the Athletic Club for several years, staying at the home of his brother-in-law, Mr. Geo HEARN. The day after the field day here he took ill with appendicitis and was hurried to the Cobalt Hospital, where he passed away.

In the Estate of George Henry Charles Hearn, deceased.
ALL PERSONS having claims against the estate of George Henry Charles Hearn, late of the Township of Harley, in the District of Temiskaming, and Province of Ontario, Retired, who died on or about the 17th day of August, 1961, are hereby notified to send particulars of same to the undersigned on or before the 2nd of December, 1961, after which date the estate will be distributed with regard only to the claims of which the undersigned shall have notice, and the undersigned will not be liable to any person of whose claim she shall not then have notice.

Effie Hearn, 78, died June 27 at Temikskaming Hospitals, Haileybury Unit.
At the time of her death she was residing at the home of Mrs. Lawrence Phillips, R R. 1, New Liskeard.
Mrs. Hearn was born April 26, 1900 to parents William Hayes and the former Emily Wilkinson in Trout Creek. She was educated in Charlton.
She married George Hearn Nov. 3, 1919 in Haileybury. She was predeceased by her husband Aug. 17, 1961, in North Bay.
A member of the United Church Mrs. Hearn was a housewife during her married life.
She is survived by one son, George Hearn Jr., two daughters, Norma, Mrs. Gordon Dickinson, and Thelma, Mrs. Lawrence Phillips, four sisters, three brothers, 19 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Funeral arrangements were by Perrin Funeral Chapel, with a service conducted by Rev. Morley Mitchell of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, New Liskeard, June 30. Burial was at Hanbury Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Miles Evans, Robert, Tony and Darcy Hearn and Mark and Blair Phillips.
Relatives and friends attending the funeral included Mr. and Mrs. Alex Dingwall, Jim Catt and Elsie, Bertha Watters, Thelma Walker, Ed Donnelly, Burt Hayes and Gordon Knight.

HEARN - HAYES

A pretty wedding was solemnized in the Manse, Cobalt, when Miss Effie Hayes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Hayes, Charlton, became the bride of Mr. George Hearin, Maybrook. Rev. G.V. McLean, Pastor of the Cobalt Presbyterian Church performed the ceremony.
The young couple have the best of luck for a long and happy life together.
