District. He is listed as a farmer born in North Carolina. His wife is Jemima, 65 years old.
There is a marker in the Peyton Randall Cemetery giving homage to him as an early pioneer and settler of Pulaski County by
his gr-gr-grandson. Ironically, this individual is too young to be their James Randolph, but is probably Peyton Randolph's
brother. Peyton and James are more likely, the sons of James Randolph, Jr., the husband of Matilda MacNear or McNear.
The actual grave of James and Jemima is on the Denton Sears Farm on Bent Rd.about two miles south of Hwy. 80 in the old
Randolph Cemetery. It is on the bend before you come to the Oather Randall Cemetery, and is under the big tree by the farm
gate.
