| Hugh Turnbough Sr., believed to be buried at site 4,5 or 6 (no
headstones have been found to positively identify) who lived in that vicinity. Much time has been spent by this writer and others trying to locate additional information on the Hugh Turnbough family. Very little however, has ever been found which tells us very much about them or their early lives in Wayne county. We know that Hugh Turnbough remained there until his death in 1886 and he was buried in a small cemetery near the Little Beech Creek. Of his children, we know that Ishom remained in that area for he was buried near Leatherwood, Tennessee, only a couple of miles southeast from his father's burial site. Undoubtedly, other of Hugh's children are buried in Wayne County, but this writer has been unable to find any record of them. |
