Several years ago, I wasn't really into this genealogy thing. I had asked some questions of my elders many years back, but they had been unresponsive, almost like they were ashamed of their heritage. I didn't press for those answers at the time. Later, after those elders had passed on, I all but forgot those inquiries. My father had passed away as had his parents years earlier. My still living mother had very little knowledge of the Tubbs ancestry so the questions I had were left unanswered; tabled for more pressing matters at hand. Then, a few years ago, I received in the mail an inquiry from what would turn out to be a distant cousin inquiring about my late father and his ancestry. I immediately became very excited. "There was someone out there who knew of my family!!" All those questions came flooding back. Rather than wait for the mails, I telephoned this newly found cousin, Mark Tubbs, and we exchanged information, or rather I should say, he gave me several pages of information about my father's ancestors. He also put me in touch with one of my father's surviving first cousins, Anna Tubbs Ordway who soon contacted me by telephone. Both Anna and Mark had been researching the Tubbs line for many years. The floodgates had been opened! With the information that Mark and Anna supplied, we were now able to trace our family back several generations!

And then the bug really hit.......

I kept wanting more information. Every answer led to more questions! I also found that there were many other distant cousins seeking the same information which I had already found. And then, I thought how wonderful it would be if this mountain of information about our family could be placed online where others might have access to it. Thus was born the idea for the TUBBS FAMILY RESEARCH SITE which you are now visiting.

My mission? To find out as much about this wonderful family as I can and to share that information with as many people as possible; to make their search for their roots as easy and as accurate as possible.

This website is not solely the result of my research but is the sum of many who have also contributed their information to the larger picture. And it keeps growing.....
