This is a close up of the Wall and gate in front of thw Bronfadog this was taken during the 6:30 am stroll to make sure we had the place pictured up!

221bronfadog63600x399.jpg

This picture is going more to the side of the Bronfadog again showing the stone wall.

222bronfadog64600x405.jpg

Ida Cann looking at the stone work of the Bronfadog

223bronfadog65450x600.jpg

Closer picture of the stone work of the wall, and also the old wheel thing being used as a border wall for the landscaping.

224bronfadog66600x450.jpg

Another picture of the wheel thing. Wonder what it was, did any one find out?

225bronfadog67450x600.jpg

This is the Jack Russell pet of the family, there is also a big yellow/white fluffy dog they were both great during our visit and well loved by the family. Vi did you get the dogs names? I know we were told but I really can't remember now.

226bronfadog68600x450.jpg

This is from inside the front yard wall, from the front door of the Main Bronfadog house. Facing to the left where the drive we came in on was.

227bronfadog69600x450.jpg

This again is from inside the front yard wall but looking towards the end of the property where the horse was kept.

228bronfadog70600x450.jpg

In this picture you can see more up the side of the Main Bronfadog house with their little wood shed

229bronfadog71600x450.jpg

Another angle of the side of the Main Bronfadog house. Looking at the windows, on the front of the house, starting at the left upper window, that is a bedroom, the next two windows are the bedroom we slept in, and the last window on the right is another bedroom window. Going around to the side of the house, the little window is in the same bedroom as the last on the right of the front of the house. Going again back to the Lower left front of the house, that window is in their den/studio room to the left of the stairs. Then the front door, if you walked in the front door you would be in a small entry and then able to go left into the den/studio, or straight to go up the stairs, or right to go into the living room. there is a window you can't hardly see that is hiding behind that shrub, it is a window for the kitchen. Going around the corner to the side of the house, past the wood shed is another window that is also for the kitchen from over the sink. I will identify the side of the house again in a minute.

230bronfadog72600x450.jpg

This one is closer up

231bronfadog73600x450.jpg

This is the total side of the Bronfadog main house. The upper left window is a bedroom, the lower left window is in the kitchen above the sink which you will see in a bit from the inside of the house. The Side door which is used as the main door now. Then the lower right window is a laundry room 2nd bathroom area. Then the upper right window is in a "work room" to reach this room you use an outside stair like you do on the side of the Dower House you will see a picture of that in a second. This end of the house was added on, it is not part of the original main house.

232bronfadog74399x600.jpg

This is the side door which is now being used as the main entrance to the house. Earlier Mike and Fliss were standing in front of this door to greet us. The door you see inside on the right goes into the kitchen, then the back wall of the entry has a coat rack, then there is an door to the right which is the laundry/bathroom/mud room

233bronfadog75450x600.jpg

This again is the side/now main door of the house.

234bronfadog76600x450.jpg

This is from the step of the side door looking up the lane where the gate with the Bronfadog sign was. This is one of those 6;30 am shots!

235bronfadog77600x450.jpg

This again is the side of the house but looking up the wall/drive. Notice again the wall, it is the wall to the yard that is behind the house, that I pointed out back at the first pictures when you are coming up the drive to the house.

236bronfadog78600x450.jpg

A picture looking at the back wall and side of the main house, some things are hard to point out because of the tree and follage, but can you see what looks like a window on the second floor that is a window in the door going into that workroom that is only accessed by the back outside staircase.

237bronfadog79600x450.jpg

Another picture of the same side of the house but a bit better view of the outside staircase and the door going into the work room. Then a bit further to the right you can see the back of the main house notice the house is a bit of a "L" now.

238bronfadog80450x600.jpg

Outside staircase going to the workroom to the back of the main house.

239bronfadog81399x600.jpg

Another view of the outside staircase and door going to the workroom.

240bronfadog82600x450.jpg

this is the back of the main house to the left of the section where the outside stairs were going to the upstairs workroom. I am standing on a stone in the wall and afraid I am going to fall into the back yard and not be able to get out...things you do at 6;30 am =)

241bronfadog83450x600.jpg

This is the stone wall that I was standing on tip toe, to get the back yard picture. Over to the right is a entry to the gate. there are several stone steps then a gate, I was afraid I would break something so I didn't attempt to get in that way.

242bronfadog84399x600.jpg

This is little bit further down the drive looking down to the main house this is the back side of the Main house. The window on the far right upstairs is the bathroom. The next window to the left is the window in the hallway that is across from our bedroom door. Down stairs that window is in the den/studio. Then you also see a bit of the walled in back yard. I couldn't figure out how to get it there because I was afraid to mess with the gate in the wall, but later when I found Mike Owens in his morning walk with the Jack Russell, I believe he told me that to get into the back yard you go around the other side of the house between the Dower house and the main house. I never went into that corner so I didn't see that entrance to the back yard.

243bronfadog85600x450.jpg

Again the back yard, isn't it pretty and green. Everything was so green, but a bit early for the flowers. So pretty.

244bronfadog86600x450.jpg

This is another gate to the back yard. Notice the wild flowers.

245bronfadog87600x450.jpg

This is looking into the back yard but up to the right from the drive, there is a ... I would say BBQ, but I don't think they call them that over in Wales, could be a Kiln, for art work.. but anyway it is a firebox and chimney of some sort. Any one ask about it? Let me know.

246bronfadog88600x450.jpg

This picture is out of order but I am not rearranging 1048 pictures to put it in order, it is from inside the front walled yard of the bronfadog, looking to the right beyond the dower house.

247bronfadog27405x600.jpg

This is again the side door/main door to the Bronfadog main house. Notice the wide lintel of the door? [Lintel= a horizontal architectural member above a door or window, often decorated, that provides structural support for the opening.] If this had a keystone in it as the windows of the Stables does it would be called a Jack Arch, i.e. a flat arch above a window or door opening composed of brick or stone members, in which dimension of the top is wider than that of the bottom. A decorative triangular keystone marks the center.] All the windows and doors had these in the Main House.

248bronfadog28600x450.jpg

This is a picture taken from the inside. I am standing in the kitchen door looking across the hall to the Laundry/bathroom/mud room. To the right where you can't see would be the door at the side of the house, and to the left is the coat rack in the entry hall.

249bronfadog29600x450.jpg

This is a picture of the side door look at the construction. All the doors are built like this and all have their original ironwork locks and hinges except the door from the living room into the entry hall at the center of the house. That door lock is of a thinner metal and tends to bend where as the original stuff almost can't be bent by hand.

250bronfadog30600x450.jpg

This is the window from above the sink in the kitchen, it is facing the garage across the drive. I mentioned this window earlier when noting the windows at the side of the house.

251bronfadog31600x450.jpg

This is a picture from the side entry kitchen door. Looking to the front of the Main house. That window is the one that I mentioned that was behind the shrub on the front of the house. Fliss had live flowers everywhere they were beautiful.

252bronfadog32600x450.jpg

This is again the kitchen , I am still standing in the door. See that door at the end of the room? The kitchen has three doors, 1. going to the entry and then out the side door where I am standing, 2. and 3. are from the kitchen to the living room at both ends of the room. Notice the balloon behind the flowers that was left from Christy's birthday. This again was taken around 6:30 AM monday morning.

253bronfadog33405x600.jpg

This picture is of Olive Tighe, who was another of the hosts for our group, this was taken the day of the tour, you can see the Tea set up by Fliss to welcome us to the Bronfadog.

254bronfadog33600x450.jpg

Now I am standing at the window at the front of the house in the kitchen looking back to the door I was taking pictures of the kitchen from. That door leads into the entry way for the side/main door of the house. Notice the dishwasher? I love a many hundred-year-old house with modern convenience!!!

255bronfadog34600x450.jpg

This is the piece of plaster that was removed from the Dower House wall as they were excavating. It has a hand drawn crest with initials in it. and a year. But Mike has not been able to figure out who's initials yet.
