

Henry McDonnell RILEY b. 11 Dec 1848 in Hunt County, Texas
Henry McDonnell RILEY was the son of William Riley b. abt. 1823 in Indiana and Elizabeth WILLIAMS b. abt. 1829, she d. abt. 1861. William died sometime between 1852 and 1859 in Hunt Co. After the deaths of their parents, Henry, John, and Madison (AKA "Matterson") went to live with R.R. Williams. It is not known if he was related to their mother. In 1864, a Mr. J.D. Williams was appointed guardian of Madison, while Henry and John went to live with Owen Riley. (SOURCE: Sharon Tingley, Riley Cousin)
John Riley was b. abt. 1786 in Georgia and d. btwn. 1843 and 1846. He married Priscilla Hall on 6 Mar 1820 in Harrison Co., IN. She was b. abt. 1799 in North Carolina. She died btwn. 1860 and 1870 in Jack Co., TX. These are Henry's Grandparents.
Edward RILEY (Henry's great Grandparents) was b. abt. 1758, possibly in N. Carolina and d. in Apr. 1821 in Orange Co., IN. He married Elizabeth WHITAKER(?) in abt. 1779. Edward and Elizabeth were Henry's gr.Grandparents.

On 9 Feb 1879, Henry married Emily F. Cox in Hunt Co. She was b. abt. 1847 in Texas. Their Children are: Dovie Ladosia RILEY b. 8 Dec 1879 in Hunt Co. and an Unnamed Infant b. abt. 1882 in Hunt Co., and d. 25 Mar 1882 in Hunt Co.

In the name of God amen
Whereas I Edward Riley of the County and State aforesaid being of sound mind and memory but knowing that it is appointed for all men to die do acclaim establish and declare this to be my last Will and testament to wit that my soul may be received by God that gave it; And my Body decently buried at the discression of my surviving friends at tautching the estate goods which god hath graciously been pleased &c bles me with now in my possession consisting of stock farming utintials house hold furniture &c I do hereby give and bequeath to my beloved wife Elizabeth Riley to be and remain in the peacable possession and to the proper use of the said Elizabeth Riley during her life or widowhood
the Just debts of my contracting being Justly paid and all credits collected and I do therefore give to my lawfull heirs towit my son Edward Riley to Mary Hogg, Elenor Wilson, Abraham Riley to William Riley to John Riley to Isaac Riley to Jacob Riley to Elizabeth Roads to James Riley to Thomas Riley and to Sally Hart each the sum of one dollar in addition to all which I have given to them individually at any former period which is declared to be theirs and I do further appoint and ordain my son William Riley & Lewis Pitman my lawful Executors to my last will and testament. Be it remembered that heretofore to wit on the 14th day of April in the yeare of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty one the last will and testament of Edward Riley deceased was produced to me William Hoggatt Clerk of the Circuit Court for Orange County and proven by the oaths of Isaac Riley and James Riley two of the subscribing witnesses thereto and William Riley and Lewis Pitman performed on their part wat was necessary for them to do to obtain a Letter testamentary.
