Will of Nancy Taylor Trout Recorded in Pearisburg, Giles County, Virginia In the name of God. Amen, Nancy Trout, being verry(sic) sick but of sound mind and memory, and knowing that it is appointed for all mankind once to die, I do make this my last will and testament. In the first place. after my decease I desire my body to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of my children and as touching the worldly estate that God hath been pleased to bless me with, I dispose of it in the following manner to-wit: I give. unto my son, William, all the farming utensils and the two work horses and one cupboard and the waggon(sic) and Guring(sic) but my son, George, may have the use of it on his farm when William is useing it until he can get himself one. I also give him one good bed and beding-(sic) and bedstead and the colt that the brown mare is now with if ever foaled. I also give to William and the grain, hogs and sheep that belongs to me. I want to remain with my four children that is with me for their support and their stock; also a note that is now in law in the County of Montgomery if ever collected. I also divide equal with my children aforesaid namely: William, Susanna, Nancy and Barbara and all the rest of my household and kitchen furniture I want my three above named daughters to divide equally amongst themselves in peace and quietness and the colt that now is sucking I give to my daughter Barbara and the two or three year old filly, I give to my daughter, Nancy, and the still I direct to be sold and the money equally divided amongst all my children and if the old sorrel mare is with foal I give the colt to Susanna and also the brown mare and lastly I do appoint my son, George, executor to this my last will and testament, given under my hand and seal this 13th day of November 1830. This last will and testament of Nancy Trout was proven in Court by-the oaths of the Witnesses hereto subscribed and ordered. to be recorded and on motion of George C. Trout the executor, the same who made oath and entered into bond with Robert M. Hutchison, his surety in the sum of $600.00 conditioned as the law directs probate thereof is -granted him in due form.
