Greensville County Virginia:

In the name of God Amen

I, Martha G. Foster, of the County and State aforesaid, a farmer by occupation, being in a sound state of mind do make this my last will and testament.

Item first: Having given my daughter Anna W. (Stancell) Field after the death of L. H. Foster a certain tract of land containing one hundred and three (103) acres more or less know as the widow’s dower in the R. T. Pace tract and formerly know as the W. H. Laspeyre land, for which she now holds a conditional deed.

Item second:   In part payment for past services: I loan my son A. H. Stancell and Lula H. his wife, during their natural lives, fifty-four (54) acres of land in the County and State aforesaid, bounded on the South by the Peterson Road north, east and west by the lands of L. H. Foster, and at their death said land to revert to their lawful heirs - to them and their heirs forever.

Item third: I loan A. H. Stancell and Lula H. his wife, during their natural lives the following tracts of land to wit: No 2 tract know as the Geo. Welton tract lying in the County and State aforesaid, containing sixty seven (67) acres more or less, and bounded on the south by the Peterson Road and on the north, east and west by the land of L. H. Foster, and at their death said tract of land to revert to their lawful heirs: to them and their heirs forever.

Item third: I loan A. H. Stancell and Lula H. his wife, during their natural lives tract of land No. 3 known as the Southall land lying in the County and State aforesaid; - containing one hundred and ninety two and one half (192 ˝) acres more or less and bounded on the north and west by the land of John Welton Sr. and on the south and east by Fountains Creek and the land of D. R. Regis and at their death, said tract of land to revert to their lawful heirs - to them and their heirs forever.

The tracts of land mention in items Nos. 2 and three are subject to the control of L. H. Foster during his natural life.

Item four: I give and bequeath to my beloved granddaughter, Mattie E. Stancell, my gold watch and chain: to her and her heirs forever.

Item five: I give and bequeath to my beloved granddaughter Florence Foster Stancell my gold bracelets to her and her heirs forever.

Item six: I give and bequeath to Lula H. Stancell a god medal pin to her during her life and at her death said pin to revert to Mattie E. Stancell, her daughter.

Item seven: I give and bequeath to my daughter Anna W. (Stancell) Field the sum of ten dollars in lieu of a breast pin.

I nominate and appoint W. F. Hunt, H. H. Hunt as my legal administrator and respectfully request that the Court require of him no security.

I hereby revoke all other wills which heretofore have been made by me: in witness whereof I hereunto set my hand and seal this 27th day of July A. D. eighteen hundred and ninety four.

Virginia: In the Circuit Court of Greensville County, April 8, 1908

In the matter of probate of will of Martha G. Foster

A writing purporting to be, the true last will and testament of Martha G. Foster, late of this County deceased, was this day produced before the Court by J. H. Hunt and proved according to law by B. B. Vincent and B. W. Vincent two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and on motion of the said J. H. Hunt it is ordered that the said writing be, and the same hereby is , established, probated and admitted to record as and for the true last will and testament of the said Martha G. Foster, deceased.
