Will of Josiah Watkins Crump
In the name of God, Amen: Item the 1st., I give and bequeath to my beloved brother-in-law, William Thomas Whitfield, his heirs or assigns forever, all of my dogs and fishing tackles, in the name of God, Amen. Item the 2nd. : I loan to my beloved wife, Martha Dickson Crump, during her life all the residue of my estate, in the name of God, Amen. Item the 3rd. : I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Carlina Corinna Crump, her heirs and assigns, forever, one (1) bed and furniture to be taken possession of after the death of my wife. In the name of God, Amen. Item the 4th. : I give and bequeath to my beloved daughter, Lucinda Mason Crump, her heirs or assigns forever, one (1) bed and furniture, to be taken possession of after the death of my wife. In the name of God, Amen. Item the 5th. : I give and bequeath to my beloved grandson, Augustus H. Stancel, his heirs and assigns forever, my shot-gun, to be taken possession of after the death of my wife. In the name of God, Amen. Item the 6th. I give and bequeath to my beloved daughters, Carolina Corinna Crump, Mary Peterson Wright formerly Mary Peterson Crump, and Lucinda Mason Crump, their heirs or assigns forever, the whole of my estate nor herein before disposed of, to be taken possession of after the death of my wife. In the name of God, Amen. Witness the following signature and seal, the 30th day of November, in the year of our Lord, one thousand, eight hundred and seventy. Wit: Philips Sale E. J. Peebles Signed: Josiah W. Crump M. A. Moss :In Greensville Co. court, Feb'y, 1871. The last will and testament of Josiah W. Crump decd., was presented to the court and proved by the oath of E. J. Peebles and W. A. Moss, two of the subscribing witnesses thereto, and ordered to be recorded.
