Will of Charles Crump March 25, 1816 Northampton County, North Carolina Will Book 3, pg. 214 In the name of God amen. I Charles Crump of Northampton Co. & state of North Carolina being sick but of sound mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manner and form following Vizt. Item: I lend unto my beloved wife Mary Crump during her life or widowhood all my lands in the county of Northampton and Halifax, also all my negros, stock of all kinds, plantation utensils, household and kitchen furniture, for her to educate and maintain my children, and for her to dispose of my negros stock of all kinds, plantation utensils, household & kitchen furniture equally between all my said children which I give to them and their heirs forever____ Item: I give to my four sons Watkins Crump, John Crump, Pleasant Crump, and Benjamin Crump all my said lands as above named to be equally divided between them whenever the youngest son then surviving shall arrive to the age of twenty one, which said lands I give to them and their heirs forever Item: I give to my daughter Mary Crump eleven hundred and twenty five dollars to her and her heirs forever Item: It is my will that if either of my sons should die before arriving to lawful age that my said daughter Mary is not to heir any part of the said decd. Land Lastly: I nominate and appoint my said wife, my brother Richard Crump and James Crump, executors to this my said last will and testament, revoking all other wills heretofore by me made, In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 25th day of March 1816.
