This Indenture made this 11th day of March 1794 between Jesse Pen of Brunswick County & George Trotter of the said... for and in consideration of the sum of sixty pounds... one certain tract or parcel of land lying & being in the County of Brunswick and bounded as follows, Beginning on John Haskins's line on a small poplar thence near a West course to corner poplar thence up the said branch as it meanders to a white oak on a large path, thence South course to corner maple thenceSouth course to corner maple on Stith line to Haskin's corner hiccory thence along Haskins's line to the Beginning containing one hundred acres... Signed by Jesse Pen and witnessed by James Trotter, William Trotter, John Paup, Thomas Pelham, Leonard Wad (?) Walker. Brunswick County Court April 28th 1794. This indenture of Bargain & Sale between Joseph Pen of the one part and George Trotter of the other part was proved by the oaths of William Trottter, John Paup, Thomas Pelham & Leonard Ward (?) Walker witnesses thereto and ordered to be recorded.
