This is the Inventory of the Estate of James Trotter Sr. born 1725 of Brunswick County, Lawrenceville, VA.

The death date of James Trotter was for the year 1783, and this Inventory is dater for the year 1787. A four year difference but this was not unsual if his spouse was still living and had claimed her Dower Rights. This allowed her to remain on the property and live until she died. The Estate could not be settled until after her death or if she remarried. I am assuming that she died around 1787, and the Estate could be settled at that time. This is without a doubt the right James Trotter his sons George & Isham Trotter were his Exec. of his will also. The also are mentioned at the bottom of the record.
